Crib training

Does anyone have any recommendations or resources for crib training? We made the mistake of getting our LO used to sleeping in our bed every night and using the pacifier. She won’t fall asleep unless she has both (this includes night time and naps during the day). She’s now 10 months and we’ve tried to put her in the crib but she absolutely hates it and cries every time we put her in. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

The program rested mama happy baby changed our lives! My babe ended up in our bed every night cause it’s the only way we’d get some sleep and now she’s sleeping in her crib the whole night only waking once or twice to feed. And putting herself to sleep for naps! Game changer highly recommend.

Let her have a few minutes of play time in her crib with some of her fave stuffed animals and other favorite toys.
It helped mine transition to not hating waking in her crib at night we went through something similar we got ours sorta in the crib around 7-8 months and then at 1 year 1 month decided to buy her a toddler bed, cute frame 8 inch mattress. I put her down every night and slip away and she sleeps through the night now in her own bed after I sneak away most nights she is good 💕

are you referring to @rested_mama_happy_baby on Instagram?

Agreed with Raquel - playtime in the crib during the day helped us as well. And yes that’s the one!

I read Taking Cara Babies and used her advice. I focused on naps in the crib first since I could be more patient during the day. Mostly used the pickup-put down method until she got used to it.

did she cry? Mine would cry even harder If put down after being picked up

yes but then you hold her until she’s calm and put her back down. She will cry again and you try to shush and rock side to side in the crib before picking up again and soothing, then it’s right back in the crib. You do this until they are sleepy enough that they fall asleep in the crib. Sometimes, the are basically sleeping when you can finally put them in but that’s ok. That’s why it takes quite a bit of patience and can’t be rushed. They do eventually get the message though. Mine can now be put in her crib awake and fall asleep. She’s 5 1/2 months. It might be harder when their older but it can still be done.

I put the crib next to our bed to see if that'll help get her out of our bed

It didn’t work for me. It was like he was terrified of the crib and climbed out of it at 12 months when I put him in so I could pee for two minutes. But I did have success with turning his crib into a toddler bed where I could roll out, although a full mattress would have been better. He does still come and climb into my bed part way through the night but it’s way better than before.

Wdy think of this for a toddler to learn word construction?

I'm open to anything else to start teaching him to read and write. He's 3!

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Pumping advise

FTM to a 2 week old! I’m breastfeeding and then giving one formula bottle last in the evening before bed. I want to start expressing milk to give me some breathing room and also allow my partner to be more involved in feeding. I’m finding the idea of introducing pumping into my day quite overwhelming though. I don’t want to take milk away from my baby by pumping if he needs it during the day when being breastfeed.

Can anyone advise how I start pumping and when to do it? Thank you!

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
