My son will be 2 in 3 weeks. All of a sudden he gets upset when I count things. Whether we're counting objects in a book, counting his fingers and toes or his toys. He's never done this before until a few weeks ago. He let's me count, and when I stop, he cries as if irritated. I don't know what to make of it. Does anyone else experience this odd behavior?

It might as well be the start of the terrible twos

Yeah my son can get like this too. Even if try to sing songs. It's as if to say, mammy I can't be bothered at the moment. Stop 🤣 xx

My daughter started telling me to stop singing at that age. Kids have weird things that bug them that make zero sense to adults

Terrible Twos is not a clock that counts down and kicks in, it’s a phrase. They are little complicated humans with emotions that’s all.
He sounds frustrated I’d try to understand why. He’s not enjoying the counting and he thinks it leads to. They start to understand what they like at this and they can now communicate
Maybe he wants to be the counter, wants to lead, doesn’t want to do that part.
