EBF to combi feeding

Yap, i think exclusively breastfeeding is breaking me and I am thinking of combi feeding to get some time for anything else but feeding.

Any suggestions? Is there a schedule I should follow?

I bottle feed in the day, some formula bottles and some expressed milk and then breastfeed when I’m in bed during the night. I do sometimes breastfeed during the day still too if it’s more convenient. I use a pump usually during the night feeds on the other side and occasionally through the day if I want to. I’d like to express more but it’s another task so don’t put any pressure on myself to do it except to be sure I have enough for at least one breastmilk bottle which is her last bottle of the day.
I find it okay, my baby has put on much better weight and I feel like she is more content too and I feel under less pressure 100%

I breastfeed most of the time, then bottle feed before bed. Usually I’ll have breastfed before bed too, but supply is too slow for baby to be satisfied.
Sometimes I (hubby) will also bottle feed in the evening around 6pm.
If you’re wanting to do less breast then maybe alternate feeds. I wouldn’t go too long between breast feeds unless you’re pumping as supply will lower because your body doesn’t think it needs to make more, and to start you may become engorged.

Same 🙋‍♀️ it’s exhausting! What formula is everyone using?

My husband gives a bottle of formula in the morning and another at night. I also give one bottle around 4-5pm. So in total 3 bottles a day just as a top up as recommended by consultants.

I guess the “schedule” depends on your and your baby’s needs and reasons for switching.

Mine is mixed. So when im at home i stick to BF throughout the day. If out and about ill formula feed (SMA Pro currently, Kendamil did not suit my LO). Then the last two evening feeds i do formula as it keeps him fuller so he sleeps for 5 hours which we welcome!
Hope that helps x

We are also using SMA pro.
I always keep a ready made carton in my changing bag with a bottle just in case too.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

How many words

Just a quick gauge of how many words your little ones are saying at this age. I heard by 15 months it should be 5 words, are most around this mark ?
