Baby is so behind developmentally

We are not crawling, sitting up himself from laying down, pulling to stand or even kneeling. Is anyone else in the same boat? I’m finding myself really worrying!!

Mine has only just learnt to do all of this literally in the last two weeks! i wouldn’t worry, they all come on at their own pace x

Thankyou ! Did you do anything to help your little one or did they do it on their own?

Ours took ages to figure it out too. I think there isn’t so much space in our flat to move in. We don’t have a whole lot of floor space. Getting her out to places where there was more space for her to roll and stuff really helped.

She literally did all of it by herself, we would count to three and pull her up on our knees to get her used to standing. During the heatwave we brought our mattress downstairs so I could sleep down there with her and because the distance wasn’t too far to the top of the sofa she started pulling herself that way! Now she’s got the hang and is doing it constantly 🥲 she has army crawled for a little while but only started to use her hands for about two weeks, and as silly as I looked, I would crawl on my hands and she would watch. So maybe try that if you want to help!

Yes! I am so concerned I've even started taking him to physiotherapist for massages and exercises...
He's moved around on his tummy or turns around while sitting but he's not rolling, sitting up from lying down (he tries though) and he's not crawling or shifting on his bum and were far from even walking 🙈 I'm a little bit relieved that we're not the only one's behind but I'm still very much concerned

Avatar

mine is exactly the same!! Are you paying for physio privately? Or did you health visitor refer you?

Avatar

I'm paying for private one. I've tried reaching for one, I called every physiotherapist and none of them heard of baby physiotherapy before....
So I put a post on FB about it and I found one who does them privately.
I haven't raised my concerns to HV yet as they've never really been involved much, so they're probably the last people on my mind to contact. But if he doesn't improve before he's 10months old, I might have to contact them 🙈

My baby also can’t do any of those things but she is such a happy baby and they say crawling etc is 6-12 months anyway so there’s time! And some babies don’t crawl. My baby has no desire to stand at all. She is lazy AF 🤣 I do get days when I panic but it’s only because I’m comparing her to other babies. But loads of babies the same age aren’t doing any of those things yet either! It may all come and once and then you’ll be knackered 😆

Kinactive Kids on IG has some great resources and exercises

Sitting from laying down is one of the hardest skills for a baby to develop. Also for a 9 month old none of those skills are expected yet !! My LG is 9 months tomorrow and doesn't do any of these and isn't showing any signs of being able to soon. If you want to know what is expected of your LO at 9 months look at the NHS website for developmental milestones.

Your baby isn’t behind, please don’t worry.
My boy can’t put himself in sitting position from laying down. He’s just started to rock on all 4s so will be crawling soon. No where near pulling to stand or kneeling.
All babies are different and that’s ok doesn’t mean they are behind.
My daughter was doing all those things at the same age, and that’s fine. My son isn’t and that’s also ok ❤️

My little girl can't do any of those things either and I'm not worried! It will come....enjoy it while we can xx

My boys the same, I’m not stressed at all.. he’s talking (babbling with the exception of a few words, pointing, laughing with correct context, engaging with people really well.
Im not too worried about all the physical stuff so much it was more the social queues and whatnot I’ve really tried to look out for
So long as Bub is hitting all other milestones I honestly wouldn’t worry too much, Bub is more than likely not going to be 30 and unable to sit himself up or crawl xxxx

My baby doesn’t sit from laying, doesn’t pull himself up, he does get on all 4s but doesn’t crawl yet.
He’s only just mastered sitting unaided. I’m not concerned though, babies do things at their own rate x

My nine and a half month old only started crawling this week, and she is now grabbing onto things and trying to pull herself up. It feels like it all happened quicky but took her a long time to get going! I really wouldn't worry x

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Big nursing bras!

I’m looking for recommendations for good nursing bras for bigger breasted ladies!

I’m currently in a 38H which seems to be the biggest size done at M&S (UK based mama here) and it’s snug and not as supportive as I’d like. When I look online, they mainly seem to be sized S, M, L, XL etc rather than bra sizes.

Any recommendations please?

Crying during feeding

Hey mams! My girl is 6 weeks on Monday and is having so much trouble with feeding. It doesn’t happen every feed but more often than not she will start a bottle and just start crying as if she’s in pain and she can’t take the milk. I think it’s trapped wind but I genuinely don’t know what to do it’s so pitiful to see her not be able to feed! She’s formula fed and on HiPP Organic.
Anyone else been in this position? I’m pretty sure it’s just a bit of trapped wind that she needs to fart out but can’t! If anyone has any advice I’d be very grateful as I think I may need to tape my eyelids open soon 😂
