Opinion on swaddling baby

My 7week old son has been swaddled since birth, he doesn’t mind it, the last 2 weeks or so he keep wiggling around in his sleep. So bad that when I first put him down he starts in the middle of the bassinet or crib and wiggles himself all the way to a corner! His crib is open so suffocating isn’t a huge concern but his bassinet it fabric! He doesn’t “roll over” he just wiggles and it’s ALL NIGHT! I move him back at least 4/5 times a night. Any suggestions? Is it time to stop swaddling? Photos in comments

Omg! The pictures are crazy! He wiggles so much!!! Maybe try a sleep sack?

My little one used to sleep like that in his next to me all the time 🙃😂 maybe try to let him have his arms out or just switch to a sleeping bag. You can’t stop them from doing this unfortunately, they do the weirdest things in their sleep 😂

Or you can swaddle with his arms out

He’s quick too! I just moved him back posted his post and he was already back in the dang corner!! Do have any recommendations on a sleep sack?

I tried that for one of his naps and still wiggled over and just stuck his arm through the bars 🤦🏽‍♀️ in the one pics I just did the one arm and he still wiggled over

@Makayla we used a lightweight Halo sleep sack for the summer/warmer days and a thicker Burts Bees sleep sacks for these colder nights. I bought all of mine used and off Facebook marketplace. I really like the Burts Bees sack because the zipper is easier to use, especially in dim light.

I’m just terrified he’s gonna suffocate in the bassinet! He kept hitting his head on his crib bars yesterday

do you think it needs to me weighted?

Avatar

No sleep for me! I’ve been up all night moving him from the corner! And when’s he’s not in the corner I’m still up paranoid he is suffocating!

maybe put him into his crib instead of the bassinet if you have space? They will hit their head, arms, legs and anything else off the bars. It can be worrying but honestly they are fine. They are just trying to figure out their own little bodies. It’s a pain because it’s worrying and it’ll wake you up but I promise it’s a phase and doesn’t last long! Just seems long at the time 😂

he’s only 7weeks idk if I’m ready for him to sleep in his room already 😭 lol

Avatar

@Makayla if he is ready to sleep in his room, go for it. We transitioned my son to sleeping in his room at 6 weeks because he was ready for it. One day, I got frustrated with him and I put him in his crib for a nap, and he passed out. That gave me a clue that he was ready. That night, we put him in the crib and we never went back.

I’ve been having him take his naps in his room, but he’s still waking up through the night so I figured it’s still easier to keep him close in my room

My daughter did this all the way until 3 months, she hated being on her back and wanted to be on her stomach. She is now in a sleep sack and loves it. It was a hard transition

what kind of sleep sack do you use?

Avatar

I don't use a weighted sleep sack because there are mixed reviews on using them from doctors and other professionals. Some people swear by them, but I err on the side of caution.

I know not everyone will agree with me but my little guy loves to sleep on his stomach and has done that since about 1-2 weeks old. We co-sleep and use the bedside crib so he's always really close me and I'm such a light sleeper. If you have room to bring your crib to your bedroom you could drop the front rails and make a bedside crib too. It's super easy and gives baby space and you leave of mind.

We use halo, kyte, swaddle designs

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Pumping advise

FTM to a 2 week old! I’m breastfeeding and then giving one formula bottle last in the evening before bed. I want to start expressing milk to give me some breathing room and also allow my partner to be more involved in feeding. I’m finding the idea of introducing pumping into my day quite overwhelming though. I don’t want to take milk away from my baby by pumping if he needs it during the day when being breastfeed.

Can anyone advise how I start pumping and when to do it? Thank you!
