Within baby’s wake windows through the day my Lo usually comes off on one side on his own, seems content, I’ll then burp him, we’ll have a play or tummy time then around 30-60 mins later I’ll offer the other side and he’ll take it and then usually falls asleep. Is this pace feeding?
Just wondering if anyone else does this..?
And is there a better way?
I find sometimes if he has both sides at once in he’s a little bit sick and has bad wind or hiccups.
How do you all feed?
Do you straight away offer the second side? He isn’t going longer than 1.5-2hrs between feeds through the day very often. Through the night I offer both sides at once as he does go longer between feeds then.

I dont always offer the both side but still trying to navigate it all, she doesn't latch as good on my left side so i usually have to pump

My baby is 3 months and gaining weight really well I rarely offer both sides I just feed on demand and only swap if she seems frustrated

Hey, I do exactly the same. I haven’t thought anything of it as it’s working for us atm. The second feed at the end of her wake windows isn’t particularly long but I always offer and sometimes she doesn’t take and sometimes she does.
At night I’ll only offer one side and she’s knocks out herself so I don’t bother waking her back up. But at night she does sleep anywhere between 4-8hours before waking x
Just for context he’s 12 weeks on Wednesday and is gaining weight well.
When I’m offering the other side he is showing what I believe are hunger cues after playing.
I think where I’m getting confused now is with his signs of hunger as he’s found his hands and has them to his mouth a lot so I offer a feed.
I’ve always fed him on demand and don’t like to wait until he’s crying to offer him a feed. The hunger signs I’m currently going off are rooting head and mouth and he has started grasping my clothing too and heading down to boob.

I do both breasts in one feed, every 2 hours. I wait until she unlatches from one side, then burp, then put her straight on the other side. She feeds for about 10-15 minutes on each side. She’s putting on weight slowly which is why we always do both sides!
thanks! It is working for us too. It’s so trial and error breastfeeding. Also my LO only feeds for a short time at the end of the wake window. I think now it’s become a sleeping aid for him, worried it’ll become a habit for him to go to sleep.

I was worried it was becoming a bad habit and to be perfectly honestly I do not know how to break it as it works like a dream at the moment… just dreading the four month sleep regression

I usually only feed from one side at a time and then swap for the next feed. If my LO is feeding for a while then I’ll swap. You know your bubs best and it sounds like they’re happy and settled so keep doing your thing - you’ve got this x

I only feed one side at once too because she's usually on there for 30-40 mins before she unlatches. If i did thr other side straight away she'd feed for a lifetime and then had terrible reflux 😂 I often pump on the non nursing side or use a haakka

I don’t normally offer both sides, LO and his older sister both seemed satisfied with just the one side
