I would be going to the doctor.
Bubs shouldn’t need food at 4months to gain weight, that don’t actually ingest much anyway at the start. There may be something else going on.
Goodluck x

Depending on the feeding schedule and amount, maybe baby needs to be checked to see if baby has any underlying issues.
They should only go up in weight after their initial drop after birth.
Hope everything is okay, I can relate to the fear of not knowing what’s wrong when somethings happening to baby. xo

Thank you👍🏻

Go to the doctor. If she’s losing weight when having fatty milk she will certainly lose more on solid foods which are predominantly fruit and veg in the early stages

I would check if baby is teething it messed with my girls appetite on and off x

She needs to take baby to gp to be referred to paediatrician at hospital to make sure there’s nothing underlying cause the weight loss. Solids isn’t the answer at this age

She would lose more weight eating solids as they would drink less milk. I'd be taking her gp or upping milk

Food won't help as they shouldn't eat more than a few tsp in the beginning. It's definitely a doctor issue. How does she know she's losing weight?

Definitely a trip to the doctor is needed to find out why a 4 month old is losing weight. There must be a reason for this. If enough milk is being offered a baby shouldn’t lose any weight. Please encourage her to take the baby to the GP asap.

I’m wondering if the baby is pulling away from the bottle a lot and getting distracted from feeding? Some people suggest going to a quiet, dimly lit room during feeds so the baby isn’t distracted

At four months they go through a sleep regression they kind of nap a little less and they start teething and they lose their appetite but it should resolve after 7 to 10 days

Thank you everyone
