Swimming

I'm looking to take my little one swimming soon but nervous. If you've took yours, how was the experience. And I'm worried its going to be cold for him (compared to bath warmth) so looking at a baby wetsuit or something if anyone has recommendations 😊

My little boy started swimming lessons just over a month ago and I was really nervous too! I bought a splash about wetsuit from Vinted to keep him warm and it definitely does the job. I’m not sure if he completely enjoys it yet, but he’s getting better!

It was great, I took mine at 13 weeks and she loved it. I was a little worried as I had to cut her nap short or I was scared the timings of the day would be off and she wouldn’t nap before but once she was in the water she was so happy. I booked the ‘water babies’ classes and the pools they use are designed for children so was really warm.

I brought the splash about happy nappy duo and the wrap wetsuit to keep her warm and she loved it! Definitely recommend x

We went to a more calmer one for babies and it had low light, warmer pool, some toys to play with too. It was great until I dunked him 🤭

I bought a warm in one wetsuit off vinted - haven't used it yet but was only £4

I took my LO to swimming lessons from 6 weeks old. It’s at a hydrotherapy pool so it’s warmer, only needs a happy nappy but he enjoys it

i take my baby twice a week started at 6 weeks. not for long amounts of tine but my advice us take two towels for them one when she gets out and one to dry properly xxx

I got a Splash about nappy and wrap (easier to get on and off than a wetsuit with sleeves) and he loves it! We just stay in for a short time for now (15 mins ish) to get used to it, and then we’ll start baby swimming lessons soon, but he’s warm enough l. I’d recommend either taking someone else with you, or having a look at the pool set up before you go the first time so you know how to pack things/where to leave the buggy/what the changing set up is etc. I went with my mum the first time and then it meant I felt really confident on my own the next time

Took mine to two different places, he loved it both times. Took him at 8 weeks and 10 weeks. I found it hard to find stuff in his size but did at Decathlon. I plan on taking him fortnightly

I took my boy at 7 weeks. We have found getting him dressed at home before the pool is definately better with a cosy sleepsuit on top of his splash about warm in one wetsuit! Also, disposable nappies are better than the happy nappy. My boy hated that going on!

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
