Going away next week and will be using Milton tablets to cold water sterilise bottles.
My plan is:
Wash bottles/teats with bottle cleanser (nuk) and rinse clean
Submerge into Milton solution (5L bucket + tablet)
Leave for 15 mins
And this is where I am unsure…
Do I then just removed the bottle and teats from the bucket, assemble and use? Do I not need to rinse off the Milton? Does it not leave a residue/smell/taste?
Anyone who uses the Milton method please can you help me out!
Thank you

With Milton tablets they don’t need to be rinsed afterwards, but if you buy cheaper brands like supermarket ones they often need to be rinsed off x

Doesn't need to be rinsed, I went to Spain for 10 days and although I'm ebf I did express a little for frozen lollies etc and just left the bits in there between uses. X

Does where ever you are staying happen to have a microwave? If so you can get tommee tippee travel steam bags that are soo good
We have mam bottles which can be microwaved but I don’t think we have access to a microwave

You can either shake off the excess solution and use, use a paper towel or clean tea towel to dry or we have a specific drying board for things that have been in the Milton solution. Once they’re dry, they don’t have the bleachy swimming pool smell.

Don’t rinse afterwards that is then unsteralising them they don’t leave a taste I have done this for my bottles and never been an issue, I just leave them to dry a bit on a towel x

I rinse mine off just to get rid of the smell as it puts me off feeding my kid if the smell is there but you don't have to rinse it off at all

Don't rinse it because then it's not sterile. Technically wiping them with a tissue or towel also means they are no longer sterile. We air dry ours on a dryer (that has also been sterilised) and then put them in a covered plastic container (which has also been sterilised and is only used to store sterilised things) x
