Post partum weight loss plan?

Hi guys, I’m about 3 weeks PP and I’m thinking about how to start losing weight. I lost 25 pounds of the 50 I gained just from the baby being out of me and swelling reduction, but I’m still needing to lose excess fat around my hips arms stomach and thighs.

Are you guys dieting yet? If so what is your diet plan? I’m just worried about decreasing milk supply

I’m not trying to diet but I have not much desire to eat. I’ve lost 23lbs from baby and swelling but have sat at the same weight for about 2 weeks now lol. So I guess even though I’m not eating a bunch I’m maintaining myself 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m just so ready to be cleared to exercise 😭 I think it’s gonna be more about just eating pretty well and exercising safely to tone back up

Same! I lost the 25 pounds right away and now haven’t lost anything more in a while. It scares me bc I’m worried the rest of the weight is going to be really stubborn

After the baby was born I only lost 9 lbs. NINE. And she weighed 7!!! I don’t get it. I felt really discouraged. Haven’t weighed myself since the dr weighed me at 1 week PP. Almost 3 weeks PP now. I know I need to watch what I’m eating (I’m breastfeeding and always hungry. Wish I lost my appetite like so many others😑) and as soon as I hit that 6 week mark and am cleared I’m going to try wall pilates. For now I’m just walking.

how much weight did you gain though total? Maybe you didn’t lose much bc you didn’t gain much!

I wish lol. I gained 36 lbs. I still looked 9 months pregnant for about a week and my husband says I look about 3 months pregnant now. Getting there 😅

We aren't suppose to work out? 😳 like at all? Or just high intensity stuff?

I had a C-section so I’m scared to mess anything up!! Waiting to be cleared at my 6 wk appt before I do anything more than walk. My bestie was at the gym all through her pregnancy, had a C-section and was back at the gym at 4 wks PP. I think her body could handle it. I can’t 🤷🏻‍♀️

As much as I would like to lose weight postpartum, I also worry about milk supply. I wouldn’t try to diet so much as be thoughtful about what I am eating. I plan on trying to limit added sugars, refined carbs, and really high fat foods like fried or heavy creams. Focusing on high protein and fiber diet. I bake my own sweets and use a sugar substitute like swerve and flour substitute of protein pancake mix. I also usually add some protein powder and extra eggs/egg whites to recipes. Protein is important for milk production and it also helps curb appetite.

I gained about 40 pounds and lost 28 just from birth, I am waiting for my body to heal(literally just my poor vagina) and then planing on going back on my fitness plan that I was on before I got pregnant😂😂 I am not going to diet in terms of calorie deficit as I don’t want it to affect milk supply so I am just watching the kind of food I eat. My husband has said it best that my body had literally been though hell and back and me fitting into my old clothes does not matter. It really help when I tried to go Jean shopping a week pp😅

I gained 50 pounds this pregnancy and I'm not trying to lose weight. I've always been extremely skinny so my struggle is going to be keeping weight on. Which I'm hoping to stay between 130 and 140. I'm 145 now and I feel amazing compared to my normal 105. If anyone has the same issue and has some tricks to keeping weight on I'd love some advice

I had only lost 10lbs and he was 8. I had so much swelling after I looked like a balloon lol. Luckily I lost like 2lbs/day once my body got rid of the fluid. Try checking your weight again! But it’s nbd either way. Everything I’ve read recommends only losing 1-2lbs per week postpartum

Avatar

really?! I don’t feel as bad now knowing maybe it’s normal. I was very puffy and swollen all over as well.

I’m not dieting. I’m giving myself six to eight weeks and then I’ll introduce a workout program. Not going to do a calorie deficit while breastfeeding either

Avatar

I'm not starting a calorie deficit yet, but just working on cleaning up my diet and going on walks. I'm going to try going back to weight training next week (6 wks PP) and see how my body does. I can't wait to actually be able to work out again 😩

I keep hearing that on here but I started working out 1 week pp. My midwife just said if it hurts don't do it

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Pumping advise

FTM to a 2 week old! I’m breastfeeding and then giving one formula bottle last in the evening before bed. I want to start expressing milk to give me some breathing room and also allow my partner to be more involved in feeding. I’m finding the idea of introducing pumping into my day quite overwhelming though. I don’t want to take milk away from my baby by pumping if he needs it during the day when being breastfeed.

Can anyone advise how I start pumping and when to do it? Thank you!
