Hi, single mom here. My son is 3 1/2 and I have transitioned him into a toddler bed as of yesterday but 2 weeks before that he had a crib that turned into a toddler bed so a few days I got his new one. And I can’t get him to stay in his bed, I’ve taken him back every time, I’ve sat with him and laid with him on the ground. This is so new to me. Idk what other way to do this? When he was a baby sleeping training was easy when he was in a crib and got him going to sleep on his own, it’s completely different now that he can get up out of his bed. Please advice im stressed out idk what im doing wrong 😭😭😭😭

Keep going it gets boring for them eventually. My LG did it fir about 3 weeks. We did turn to treats of she went straight to bed like screen time etc. For up time we got a clock that goes green when it's up time x

Keep putting him back. First time use the same phrase ‘it’s time to go to bed now’ etc. all other times do not make conversation. It soon gets boring for them.
Could also try a grow clock?

Ok-to-wake clock! I got a cheap one from Target. You set it for your wake up time and then the light turns green when it's ok to get out of bed.
Each time he gets out of bed, be boring and take him back to bed. Repeat your same "good night, I love you, see you in the morning" saying and with time he will stop getting up and stalling bedtime.

Oh same with my daughter lol, I bought her a twin mattress & house bed 🤣💖 (used off FB, I'm not rich) but she did the same thing. I just repeatedly put her back in her bed & said goodnight shhh. Some times I was nice, sometimes she needed me to be stern lol. About 3 weeks she finally got the hint. I never made it fun like "Oh silly baby" no lmao 🤣

I agree with others just keep taking him back and saying “it’s bedtime now” and no other conversation. We use a gro clock so that we say when the light is blue we stay in bed. We also don’t bother if she doesn’t want to be in bed some nights she sleeps on the floor with her teddies other nights she’s lay on a pillow but as long as she stays in the room we give lots of praise and a sticker in the morning.

Ah Hannah I was in the same position as you almost two months ago! It took a good month for him to get bored of us leading him back to bed but now most nights he stays in bed for me. Consistency is key for whoever is putting him to bed. Trust me
It will get better it’s just tough for a short while x

this actually makes sense . Bcus my toddler also got transition into a toddler bed and he now loves to sleep in our queen bed 🫠 lol if I had room in our room I’d gotten him a bigger bed lol
