I am currently overdue by 5 days had a sweep today but don't think it's going to work as midwife said it wasn't favourable so got to go into hospital Wednesday. I'm looking for advice slash opinions on induction/C-section. I really didn't want either but feel I'm running out of time!!

Such a scary time isn't it xx

I had similar news.. had option to have induction tomorrow (42 weeks) which I agreed to.. but then spoke to partner and hospital and have decided to push back until weekend .. just to give me a few more days to see what happens.. as I’d rather be some way dilated when they do induction (even if it’s 1-2cm) so it’s nor as long. But who knows…

I wasn’t over but my waters broke at 36+1 and I was given antibiotics to try and get me to 37 weeks. At 36+6 in the evening they gave me the gel as didn’t need the pessary as waters had broken. The gel didn’t work after 6 hours. They were about to give me the hormone drip but I had a hissy fit and asked for a c section which they done the following day. Although I had complications (for something completely different) I would recommend the c section. To walk into theatre it was calm. I’m pleased I try the induction but realistically just knew it wasn’t going to work for me. Good lucky 💞

Just had my second sweep today at 41 weeks, a few pains but hasnt really started anything so I'm booked in for an induction this Saturday. I really wanted to avoid an induction and still hoping baby will arrive before then 🤞 From what I have read from 42 weeks your baby is at increased risk which is the only reason I'm going ahead with it. But it's personal preference, you can have your baby monitored more regularly beyond 42 weeks and hopefully they make an appearance when they are ready 😊 Do what feels right for you and your baby

I’m 40+5 today too. Had midwife appointment earlier, tried a sweep but was unsuccessful as cervix is still fully closed. So disheartening! Booked in for an induction next Monday but have been told I can change my mind and refuse it if I want to. You can opt for monitoring instead where you’ll go in every other day and they’ll monitor baby to make sure they’re still happy and healthy. It isn’t always a case of once you’re 42 weeks they’ve got to come out, unless there’s an obvious medical reason. I also want things to happen as naturally as possible so hoping things have before next week. Still unsure if I’ll choose to be induced or not come Monday

Help them get into optimal position for labour!
Really helped me
I was 40+4 and booked for Induction the next day.
That was the last thing I tried and I’m sure it worked, it helped get her down to start labour naturally without intervention.

hiya, pls would you mind sharing link.. there’s a few not sure which is most effective ;-) x

As I was going through they all seemed to really be similar.
What helped me the most was the leaning inversion. I did it 3x. Took a break. Did it 3x again and I felt so different and from there on she was born 6hrs later.
I’m sure she would still be in if I hadn’t haha.
She was my 4th and my first time being overdue. I even had 2 failed sweeps.
Certain she just needed some help getting into the correct positioning and once she was aligned. It all happened so fast! 🫶🏽
Hope it works for you!! 🥰

thank you!! X
