Screen positive for trisomy 21

I did the genetic screening and got a screen positive for Down syndrome. My risk increased to a 1/310 chance from a 1/1000 chance. I’m waiting on my diagnostic genetic testing to come back but I am struggling with anxiety around this.

My NT scan was normal, and there are calcified nasal bones present. I’m trying to be positive and optimistic, but also can’t help the “what if” thoughts.

Try to not stress! My risk increased from 1/922 to 1/102 and everything came back good and healthy from the NIPT! My babies NT was normal and nasal bone was also present. Is it your hormones that increased the risk?

I think so! It’s hard to try and figure out what my blood work says tbh. I tried googling and it looks like my beta HCG is what is elevated. I’ve been VERY sick so it makes sense I have higher HCG but concerning non the less

I totally get it. I just got my results back last Tuesday (due April 9) and it was genuinely the hardest most stressful thing I’ve experienced in a long time. Feel free to reach out if you need to chat 💗

I did ultrasound for 20 weeks anatomy scan today, and they told me baby has EIF (heart calcification) and slightly enlarged kidney (4 mm), which are two soft marker for down syndrome, my NIPT/NT/AFP all came out normal, this just 0.3% chance made me so anxious today

Hi! I was in a similar position, the first screening test came back positive with a 1/510 risk and then when I did the more in depth NIPT test, it came back all perfectly normal/low risk!
My doctor advised that the first test unfortunately tends to have a lot of false positives so try and not to worry/stress. Sending positive vibes your way 🤗

Small head reported following 20 week scan

Has anyone else had it flagged that their baby is in the bottom 5th percentile for head size?

They said everything was fine whilst we were in the scan and then I got a phone call the next day saying that it’s on the small side and we’re being referred to a paediatric specialist at St George’s. Has anyone else had this and how did things go??

Would you bring 9 week old to a family party of 35+ people?

These are also people who will want to pass the baby around and get a turn to hold him. He just got his 2 month shots two days ago

Exercise 6 weeks after c section

What movement did people start to introduce? I won’t do anything too vigorous until I’ve seen the pelvic physio as I don’t want to compromise anything that may have been extremely weakened through pregnancy! But just wondering what types of classes/movement people started off with?

I’m 29 weeks pregnant and having really aching legs and they’re all lumpy and swollen. Above the knee and behind the knee . Should I be worried ? My legs have never looked like this up until a few days ago. ??
