My baby is 6 weeks old and for the last couple of weeks he seems so uncomfortable when trying to pass wind and seems constipated and it’s like he’s in pain! I’ve tried Kendamil which he was on from birth but then he started seeming very uncomfortable so Health Visitor recommended Aptamil, this made him have quite loose bowels but he was going more regularly but still seemed so uncomfortable, he’s now on SMA which seemed to be okay but now again he’s seeming like hes in pain, he’s waking up from naps crying and is so unsettled when he’s in his crib. Does anyone have any advice please😭

does he have any other symptoms? my daughter couldn’t poo / went every 3 days, was sick, seemed in pain always pulling her legs up and not being able to pass wind, turns out she’s got a lactose intolerance and is now on special milk, she’s a completely different baby now!
after a lot of feeds he is spitting up quite a bit and sometimes sick, pulling his legs up and is so wriggly when i put him down in his cot. i just don’t know what’s wrong i feel so bad for him cos he can’t tell me what’s wrong!😭

Are you able to see if he has even the lightest rash on his face, neck or chest? If you can spot a bit of a rash, then this is lactose intolerance. Same as my LO. We are switching to lactose free formula tomorrow and hope to see a difference

It sounds like it could be Infant Dyschezia. Have you looked into that? X
he has a little bit of a rash on his face! do you need to be prescribed lactose free milk or can you buy it from the shop as i would like to try it and see if it helps?!
oh no i’ve not i’ll go and have a look!

you can buy it but it’s very expensive compared to normal milk, i went to my GP explained everything and got a prescription straight away x
i’ll give my doctor a phone tomorrow and explain it, im just worried they try and fob me off saying it’s normal or something as i’ve seen a lot of people say that it took months for the doctor to actually prescribe the milk!

it sounds bad but you may need to exaggerate slightly, my friend had to as they fobbed her off for a few weeks x
