Do you cover baby’s hands when sleeping?

Most of the Babygros have the fold over scratch mitts. Do you use these or leave their fingers free?
Just curious!

We leave his hands free. He tends to be a warm baby so mittens or the fold over jammies annoy him. He loved a swaddle when he was a newborn but somehow he would manage to wiggle one hand or arm out. I called him baby Houdini 🤣

We leave them free. We noted our baby was getting frustrated with them over and angry ‘with his hands’ turns out he’s a thumb sucker and wanted his little thumb to soothe xx

Mine puts her whole fist in her mouth if they’re free, or sucks the sleeve if we cover them 😂

We’ve always left them free. She hates not having hee hands out

I cover my little ones because he’s absolutely obsessed with his hands at the min and will stay awake for so long playing and shoving them in his mouth

I cover mine cause whenever she has them free and she wakes in the night for a feed I always notice her hands are freezing if they are left out - the rest of her is warm and she doesn't seem bothered by it but it makes me feel terrible!

We leave them free - he gets so grumpy when his hands are covered 🫣😂 x

I cover mine cos he always manages to scratch himself in the night 😵‍💫

also same 😂

I've just started covering mine because he rubs his face so vigorously when he's tired

Cover because they're freezing if I leave them out

When she's cold i use them. But tbh even though its got colder i think they are better at regulating their body temperature. I haven't had to cover them for a few weeks.

We cover as she pulls at her face when she’s tired and those pesky nails she always manages to scratch herself or poke herself in the eye 😂

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
