Hi there - first time mom at 31 weeks. Baby shower was yesterday and of course I noticed for first time my feet and ankles are swollen such that I barely have ankles! Seemed to go away by next morning - I tried to sleep with my feet elevated (and with pillow in between knees which was interesting), but swelling came back later in day after going for a walk/short hike. Anyone else experiencing swelling? Trying to convince myself mine is normal. And drinking more water!

Check your pressure

Unlike what some others are saying, water retention and swollen ankles is totally normal. Keep an eye on your BP but it might be entirely unrelated.
Mine is. My feet and ankles swell a lot lately and my BP is perfect.

Compression socks help so much

Swelling is normal as long as your pressure isn't high. That's why I suggest checking your pressure. Check your pressure if you have a headache, blurred vision, dizziness, swelling, shortness of breathe or chest pains. These are all signs of preclampsia and can be life threatening.

Compression socks will definitely help. I have some that zip up bc I have wider calves. They are amazing. Extra salt in diet can effect swelling as well as standing a lot. Definitely keep tabs on blood pressure as it’s also a sign of preeclampsia. But u can have it without that like me. Sitting more often with feel up helps a lot.
I called nurses line and they don’t think I need to come in unless other symptoms coincide (severe headache, vision problems, hands swelling too, pain in belly) as long as it goes away with rest/overnight.

do you have a link to the compression socks with zipper??

they were off Amazon. Here’s link
