Week old baby unfortunately won't latch due to flat nipples and gotten used to bottles
Only way to breastfeed is with nipple shields which is extremely tricky, I've asked several midwifes and watched videos but he won't latch and just gets frustrated!
Any help or tips for lactation help around Westminster London

I have flat nipples too. Nipple shields are really helping

Try pumping - this should help!
any luck with transitioning them? Which shield do you use, I have some trouble making mine stick before baby latches
I've been pumping, unfortunately even when I try offer boobbie right after with the nipple out he won't take it :(

Looks like there’s a bf support cafe at one of the local children’s centres:
-Queen's Park Children's Centre
- you can call the NCT bf support line
-can ask your HV about local groups
-https://clch.nhs.uk/application/files/9316/8777/9175/april23.pdf timetable of all the bf support in your area :)
this is amazing, thank you very much I'll give them a call to see if the drop in session times are still the same

I really wanted to breastfeed my LO without them but sadly he doesn't latch or even try. I am using MAM nipple shields. I wash them after every use and leave them in the container while wet. I think when they dry they dont stick to the skin

Don't worry about it. It does take time for the pumping to work on your nipple ! Just keep trying for few weeks maybe ?
Thank you guys so much will get the latch assist right now, I'm willing to try everything!!

Honestly it was amazing. Even the midwife in hospital said she wasn’t sure I’d be able to breastfeed. And now, I’ve not had any cracked nipples, no pain, no nipple shields, no bottles, just the latch assist for a day. Feel free to message me if you need any help using it xx
