Hi ladies, I’m sure the gaviscon has made my baby worse! Doctors put him on it near enough 2 weeks ago and it’s really fussy and tensing (he goes poo once a day usually so can’t really say it’s that) any advice? Pls I’m losing my mind he’s so uncomfortable. Oh he also passes wind!
Spits up quite a lot,
Fussy,
Screaming in sleep and all round in pain
Green mushy sometimes watery

I'm currently in the same situation. The doctors prescribed him laxatives but no luck with those, it makes him pass wind and poo but it's still painful for him since it's solid poos

I give my son an ounce of water a day to help him poo he does no problem now. Have you tried it with your little one?

@Shannon how old is your son? Mines 5 weeks old so I'm not too sure about giving him water

he’s 8 weeks. 5 weeks premmie. Honestly it’s okay to give a few sips. I’ve been told by loads of midwives and doctors and mummas to do so. As long as you aren’t feeding them it a lot. Just a few sips a day ( I personally do an ounce)

I might consider this thank you❤️

Milk allergy, I had the same problem with my boy been put on milk allergy formula took two weeks but finally he's he's so much better. No more green poo x

when I suggested to the doc about milk allergy he said no because baby has no rash? Did your little one get a rash? I’m sure not all baby’s will get one? C

No he had no rash keep on at them! I was lucky with the doctor I had , most just try fob it off. He was exactly how your describing. Did the doctor examine his tummy?xx

yeah just said all looks good. I’ve actually seen a few. First doc said maybe milk allergy come back if nothing changes. Went back second doc just said over feeding him. 3rd reflux. I’m going insane😂 going to get hold of my docs now and just tell them what I’m thinking and give them a good bit of pressure to make sure he’s not thobbed off again. Bless you, thank you Hannah! X

My 9 week old was the exact same as your little one and now he’s on milk for CMPA and what a huge difference. We are still using some gripe water as he struggles with wind but he’s nothing like he was. The gaviscon made our little one worse too. It’s just so awful seeing them constantly unhappy. Hopefully the Gp can prescribe some milk xx
