Any suggestions on a good bedtime routine? Are others starting to introduce one? Up until now we’ve just been going with the flow but think we should start being more structured. He’s waking up a lot in the night also 🙈

We have a routine in the way that we do the same things each night (nappy, sleepsuit, feed, Ewan goes on) but we don't do it at a set time each night as if baby's not tired there's just no point. We're baby lead by his cues. At the moment he starts showing sleepy cues around 9.30pm so we start doing the "routine" then and he normally goes to sleep about 10pm-11pm.
So we are mostly just going with the flow based on when he's tired!
What makes you think you need to be more structured?

We’ve always had a little bedtime routine but have in general followed his cues. He’s always had a bath every night around 6.30, but he never used to go down for the night until about half 10. So the time in between was just different every night. When he got to about 9 weeks he started getting himself into a routine really. Still a bath at half 6, bottle at 7, I read him a little book and then he goes down at 7.30 for the night x

We do something similar as Amelia but without the book because he is already very drowsy after the bottle :/

We tend to head up to bed at 9pm, put him in his sleeping bag, put the white noise on, offer him some milk, pop a dummy in, have a little cuddle and put him in his next to me. He has been settling himself to sleep in there at night time (I hope I haven’t just jinxed that 😂)

We change his nappy downstairs before heading up cos my toddlers upstairs in bed at 7 ish 🙈

this sounds like heaven, every kid is different but I wish mine was able to settling himself

We start about 9:30 and do bottle, top & tail wash as she hates being taken out of the bath so I don’t like to do a full bath before bed, baby massage with the my little coco bedtime oil, nappy change, put her in a swaddle bag, do a story in the bedroom then lights off and white noise on and I rock her to sleep and pop her in the next2me once she’s fast asleep then I get ready for bed. I try look for her cues when starting and don’t leave it too late after she starts looking tired or she gets agitated, she’s usually in bed for 10:30

@Rebecca we are same I do my 4yr old routine purely for school reasons so baby just tells us. Always wash and pjs after 5th bottle as he usually has 6 then bed all different times. Last night was 8pm night before was 10pm bedtime 🤷♀️

I can't be done with trying to get him to sleep if he's not sleepy. It just winds us both up!

Thanks everyone xx

it baffles me cos my first would never 😂 although he doesn’t settle in the day at all, only like a contact nap!
