I’m 38 weeks and 6 days pregnant today, two days ago I went in to the hospital because I was leaking a lot and was unsure if baby was just sitting on my bladder or if it was amniotic fluid.
My reason for finally going was because I got off the toilet after peeing and releasing what I thought was all my of bladder to standing up and a bunch of fluid running down my leg.
So I went to the hospital and they said that after testing my fluids that it came back negative for amniotic fluid. They got an ultrasound just to make sure there was enough around the baby and they said my amniotic fluid was at the bare minimum. So I got induced on Saturday around 5 pm. Sunday morning comes and I’m not feeling any contractions but I’m ripened a bit, effaced 30%-50% but have not dilated much at all since coming in at 1 cm. I was barely at 3 cm.
To me, this sounded good, this is my third time having a baby and being induced, I told them it takes awhile for me to go into labor, I’ve been induced for both of my previous pregnancies after 40 weeks. My body has never gone into labor naturally.
They started me on pitocin at 8 am. By 12 pm, nothing has changed for me externally aside from feeling a little pressure. No cramping, the contractions were hardly visible to me, I had not effaced anymore nor had I dilated any more. This was a bit unusual for me since both times I got induced I was feeling contractions by this same time point. They decided to get me an ultrasound again and my amniotic fluid had raised enough to safe levels, but I have not been moving around. I’m very active at home and do a lot for my family with errands and what not so I’m saying once I get home and have to get back to doing what I normally do, I can start leaking again.
They said, it doesn’t seem like my body wants to go into labor yet, they stopped my pitocin around 1:45 and I was waiting to get discharged. I signed the papers to leave the hospital, went to the bathroom and I’m starting to lose my mucus plug.
I’m feeling so disappointed at this point cause I feel like if I just would have waited a few more hours I would have my baby and I wouldn’t have to do this all over again next week.
I’m at home now and I’m no longer contracting, I feel fine, I’m just mad. 😤

induction is the worst it can go fast or it can go slow that’s my biggest fear of being induced because everybody body doesn’t accept the pitocin the same some ppl body accept right away some ppl body could take days now here yu are in labor for days before delivery i was induced one time an labored for 23 1/2 hours by time it was time to push i was exhausted from being in labor so long

it is so exhausting! I was starved and tired by the morning. This hospital bed was particularly uncomfortable. And my first time i was literally losing oxygen and almost passing out when I pushed! I think because both of my inductions proceeded in very similar ways the last two times that I had babies I seemed to be subconsciously thinking it will be going the same way this time, no matter how many times I have told myself that every pregnancy is different and this is my third time!
