How can I calm it/eliminate the dry flakes? Should we be washing his hair more?

Probably cradle cap rather than dandruff

How often are you washing and what with?

Cradle cap!!! My pediatrician says you could can use a tiny bit of head and shoulder normal one unscented on baby scalp and it should help go away but only do that 2 times a week rest will have to be normal baby shampoo I use to take of cradle cap with my nail while she slept😂 I found it more easier then scrubbing the shit out of her headðŸ˜

Wash less often actually. You can find baby versions of shampoo for cradle cap but honestly most will just out grow it and it's not that big of a deal unless it's really covering a lot of their scalp

Most likely cradle cap, my kids are currently struggling too. Pediatrician said to put aquaphor on it which I do and it helps but once it’s gone and I stop having them looking like a human chapstick it comes back lol

So so.ething that is helping me for my 10 month old. My husband found these silicone face scrubbers at Ross I think. They are super flexible and soft so when I wash her hair I've been using that to loosen it all up and it comes out easier amd getting less and less now.

Massage with coconut oil and then use this

Wash hair more and it will disappear

Definitely wash the hair more often and use coconut oil to keep the scalp and hair from being dry really helped with my daughter

Use hair oil or grease with coconut oil make sure the scalp is always oily that’s the better way

Personally before a bath I used to soak my son’s head with baby oil and get a comb and scrape it off

I don't think washing more will help.

Head and shoulders would work
