Store it in a breastmilk bag, you refrigerate for 8 days then freeze for 6 months. You can store how much you want in the breastmilk storage bag as long as it doesn’t overflow😂

I stored based on how much my baby was eating in one sitting. He is mainly breastfed, and my husband used to do one bottlefeed a day. So in the beginning I only stored 2 oz per bag. Now he is almost 9 weeks old and I store 5 oz/bag. There’s no right answer, but this made sense to me.

Hey! I did 5 oz bags. So glad I did because now my baby drinks 5 oz at a time, 1 bag per feed. It’s perfect.

Ps- measure milk in the bottle you feed in. And then pour into bag. Then it’s exact each time.

.. yes thank you. He is 3 days old .. and he is only drinking 2 oz but I'm making more so trying to make sure his dad doesn't have to warm up a whole 6 oz and then put the warm milk back to be refrigerated. Thank you .. I'll follow what you did. I breastfed my other son but really had no guidance.

I store approx 3 oz in each bag because once it’s defrosted if it’s not used then it’s wasted.

my son is combine fed. typically I freeze in 3 or 4 oz bags so that he can have a bottle mixed with formula as well. before I would freeze up to the max but that did. not work for very long in my personal opinion

My bags are anywhere from 2-3 oz, I usually put them in separate bags (each boob gets 2-3) just cause my little one only drinks 2-3 oz at a time so I don’t want to over load the bag and end up wasting it she doesn’t drink it all when it goes into bottle

.. thank you guys, what age did your little ones start going up in oz on feeds ? Like he is 3 days so we are only doing 2oz .. but what age should I start expecting him to eat more ?

It varies on the baby, but you'll know it's time because he's always asking for more. When that happens I increase bottles 0.5oz per day until little one seems satisfied

I put as much as I can into one bag as I don't like to waste the bags. They can be expensive buying them all the time, plus the plastic waste. I then just pour how much I need into a bottle and put the rest back inti the fridge. We don't heat the milk as my little one doesn't mind cold milk, but you could then just heat the bottle up.

I would do 4oz that’s a good average for what kids drink and if they drink more when they are older do two bags. Also don’t leave it in the fridge for 8 days. Idk how that information came to be. But it should at most go by a 6 times frame. 6 hours out after pump 6 days in fridge 6 months in freezer.

yes it's 6 days for us , 4 hours at room temp & 12 months of freezer

cdc recommends milk only be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days before being used or frozen!

my husband washes out the bags so we can reuse them once we run out of bags. He’s also very conscious of plastic/money waste.
