38 week midwife appointment

It’s just the usual, at least mine was, I had mine this morning. Offered a sweep if I want it at my 40 week appointment x

Nothing special. They may ask if you want to book sweep.

The usual for me. Blood pressure, baby’s heart beat, urine and asked if I wanted a sweep which is booked at 40 week appointment x

What’s a sweep ladies

the midwife manually checks position of your cervix and if possible sweeps their finger around in a circular motion which can help to induce labor. Some women report this to be painful or uncomfortable; I personally didn’t find it to be either and it did successfully induce my first labor.

Not really related to this post but I feel abit disappointed by the appointment system in general and how it works.
Sometimes my midwife isn’t even there, so having my fundal measurements checked by a different person each time doesn’t really help as there’s no consistency.
My birthing plan was clearly detailed and I had specific things I didn’t and did want, she just sort of skimmed past and agreed, at that point I just thought what is the point!

I’m not expecting anything other then the usual for my 38 week’s appointment either.

I’m sorry you had a bad experience 😔 I’ve had the same midwife since the booking appointment, and she’s never missed one. I also had her personal number and messaged her whenever I had questions or concerns. I guess I’m lucky, probably part of the minority.

I had my thur I had my wee checked, blood pressure, baby's heart beat and how engaged I was also offered me a sweep which I'm having thur next week at 39 week xx
