Not putting on weight…

My LB is 10 weeks and I got him weighed this week as I was worried he wasn’t drinking enough milk. He dropped off the 25th centile but not enough for them to be too concerned (gotta go back in 2 weeks).
They advised me to move from size 1 teat to size 2 (I exclusively pump. No formula!!) but he is struggling to drink with this and he’s feeds are now all over the place. He’s never drinking anymore than 4oz at a time only reaching roughly 25 a day! He doesn’t seem hungry though😩 any advice to get him to drink more!? Worried he’s going to keep going down the chart

You could try fennel tea ?
The other day when I was in my parents home my dad gave my 2 months old fennel tea as she’s very small still she only drinks 90ml when she meant to be drinking 120 or more but she loved it it also helps soothes stomach or gassy aswell she was very unsettled that day after that tea she was all calm and pooed twice she felt so relaxed after she wanted milk she would never drink so much milk but would drink 150ml of fennel tea it also helps gain weight , my mum gave me and my siblings fennel tea when we was a baby.
If you not sure if is safe to give it you can always ask your GP but nothing happened to her infact she wants more every time but once or twice a day is enough

My little girl is nearly 11 weeks and only has up to 4oz every 3/4 hours, so I was a bit concerned, too. I tried upping to 5oz, but she won't drink it, so I don't want to waste it or force her. I think every baby is different though. I was thinking of changing to size 2 teat too. How much does your baby weigh, and what was his birth weight? X

he was born 6lbs8. Now weighing 11lb1. Your situation sounds exactly the same as me. Been trying 5oz but not drinking it 😂

@Beth my little weighed 6lb 10oz so very similar size too! She was only 9lb 4oz when last weighed though but that was 3 weeks ago so will be more now x

thing is he’s sleeping through the night now too so even less time to try get him eating.
Even if I do try wake him up, he won’t drink he just falls back asleep. I swear I have the sleepiest baby ever 😂😂

Avatar

@Beth yeah she sleeps for 6/7 hours at night. She also has lots of naps during the day. She's had 2 3hr naps today 😂 it's better than a baby that constantly screams 😂 I think if they are that hungry they will wake up x

that makes me feel a lot better! He does drink his milk happily and is a happy baby so I can’t exactly force him to have more 😂. Good to know it isn’t something to be too concerned about! 😁

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
