So my LO had his jabs today and I gave him calpol after via the syringe but he spat like 80% of it. Anyone else's done this?
Or can anyone advise on how else to give or to make him not spit it up as he's due his next dose shortly

Use a bottle teat? X

Squirt very small amounts into the corners of the mouth rather than putting the syringe centrally into the mouth. 😃

I use a bottle teat! Best hack ever

Put it in a bottle teat and before they know what’s going on, it’s gone! We’ve done it with gripe water and worked wonders xx

Just gave it with a teat and he had the lot without fuss or spit up. Thank you

I use the Frida baby medicine dummy (w a syringe) it’s soo good!

Not useful now but for next time, someone suggested using the calpol suppositories instead to solve this issue.

I use a baby spoon. Just sterilise it before with boiling water. I measure the amount necessary using syringe and then divide it in 2 or 3 parts. Giving small part with a spoon each time. Works really well

You can trigger a baby’s swallow reflex by gently but suddenly blowing in their face after giving them some of the medicine. The nurse got me to do it for my daughter’s eight week drops.
