In the hospital, do you put a short sleeved vest under the sleepsuit?

Packing the bag, I only packed sleepsuits, but it dawned on me I might need to put vests under? But if it's really that warm in there, is that still necessary?

It is warm but tiny newborns get cold really fast. I had mine in a short vest, onesie and a double folded cellular blanket, kept her hat on that they gave her for the first 24 hours aswell xx

Defo pack vests. Our recovery ward was chillier than our last recovery ward (with my first born) so I was really glad we had long sleeved vests with us. I’d pack both short and long sleeve for both eventualities. Newborns get cold super quick so it’s better to be prepared 😊

We used a short sleeve bodysuit under a sleepsuit. I had got a blanket with me but we used the hospital ones - at least double folded. They also insist they wear a hat to begin with, though the hospital gave us one of those as well x

Thank you! And what size of muslins? Regular? I've got some that look 'normal' and then some that are huge. Maybe the big ones are for swaddling? 🤔

I had him in vest sleepsuit blanket they gave me a blanket i had and a towel thing they also put him in and when they first took his temp they still said it was slightly low. Its such a shock them coming out into the world and get cold VERY easily.

We didn't actually use any muslins in the hospital, but normal size should be fine. I can't believe how many we get through now we're home though! x

Yes on the ward they say to make sure they have vest and sleepsuit on

They say they need one more extra layer than us so a vest, sleep suit and blanket is essential xx

It’s boiling at the hospital! No need to put double layers on. Bring a cardigan instead

Scan needed at 33 weeks

Hi ladies! I just had a midwife appointment (I am 33+5)..the midwife was different to my usual midwife. She's requested I have a scan within 72 hours as she said baby is measuring a little small, however, she did say that it's likely nothing to worry about and it's probably just her measuring me a bit different to my usual midwife. Has anyone else had this? Am a bit worried although babys heartbeat and movements are completely fine.

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient 😂🥲

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?
