First time expecting mom and fairly new to Chicago. Considering to go with Rush and would appreciate any feedback from anyone who has experience with OBGYN (labor and delivery) Rush.

i go to rush, however i’ve been considering switching to illinois masonic because 1. when i go into labor TRAFFIC will probably be crazy and 2. i get so many unnecessary bills from rush

haven’t had any negative experiences aside from the billing. i’ve been charged for bloodwork that’s covered in insurance, and also late responses from my doctors or just straight up ghosted when i send messages.

Ah, TY! I’ve only had a few appointments so far and have already experienced the billing issues! Have been billed for all lab work thus far. Were you able to get it resolved since your insurance covered?

not yet! but that’s because i just received my letter in the mail a few days ago. this has happened in the past though, and i have been able to get it resolved before. the issue is that some of the doctors don’t tell you that what they’re doing is NOT a requirement, so when they do it, you’ll get charged! for example; i was getting a routine check up done, and the doctor told me that my babies measurements were all good and there wouldn’t be any risk of down syndrome, in order to know that, they would have to measure the neck, which she had already done during the ultrasound. she told me this information and then said “but you technically have to ask for that information, so you have to tell me yes or no if you WOULD have wanted to know, so i can charge you” and when i said no, bc well she had already told me, she still put it in my labs

Hi, I'm a doula. What kind of experience are you looking for? I'm asking bc depending on whether you want heavy medical involvement or more natural minded care, or something in the middle. Rush could be a good fit or not.

I was born at Rush! Of course I don’t remember lol. But my mom said it was the best experience for her hands down. They’re one of the top hospitals in Chicago.

It was perfect! Since I have diabetes, I had a high risk OB at rush, her name is Veronica Yeung, it was a great experience with her and the delivering team was incredible, they made me feel heard, super comfortable and treated me really good! I’ll be having my future babies there for sure!

I been there for my last 3 kiddos and I love it
