Formula

Hiya I’ve just started formula feeding my son.
How does everyone do bottles when they’re out and about?
Thanks!

The nuby rapid cool is great if you only need to make 1 whilst you’re out. Just take a flask of hot water and make as you would anyway. Only issue is sterilising it if you need to make more. If I know I’m going to be out all day I’m lazy and buy the pre-made bottles!

You can use the nuby to do the hot shot method also, so using a flask of boiling water pour however many ounces of water into the bottle, transfer most of the water into into the nuby leaving 1-2oz of boiling water in bottle, add formula to bottle and mix while water is cooling in the nuby, mix together once ready and bottle should be perfect drinking temp

This means you can do multiple bottles and no need to sterilise in between

I got told off by our HV for this! I know loads of people do and I can’t for the life of me see the issue but apparently it’s wrong 🙄

My boy is turning one next week and we’ve never had a problem xxx

Hv have to follow guidelines but what I have learnt is do what makes you feel comfortable. Asks others how they do things and go with you gut! Personally I've never had an issue doing the following for both my boys. I have a bottle with cooled boiled water and a flask with boiled water. Pour what I need in a bottle from both then add the powder. For a 6oz bottle for me it's 4oz water 2oz hot. Both mine hated cold milk 🙈 so ready made didn't work for me. Xx

I take a flask of boiling and a few bottles with cool boiled water in and an empty bottle. If he has a 6oz bottle I’d take the cool boiled bottles with 3oz of cool water in. When he wants a bottle I pour 3oz of boiling into the empty bottle, mix in the formula powder and then pour 3oz out of one of the cool bottles and then that bottle becomes your empty one to start again. You could always take one big bottle of cool water but I just pre measure into separate bottles so it’s even easier when out and about. Just remember to use the cool water bottle to measure out the cool water and not the bottle that now has the formula and hot water in coz obviously it will look like there is more in there and you may put less cold in than you should xx

We just use cartons :)

I take a flask with hot water, a bottle of water if need to cool down and powder scoops in the powder pots I find very good and easy for when I’m on the go or even bedtime use x

If my little one needed a bottle soonish after we went out I’d make one at home and then it would be fine for up to an hour. Anymore more then that or a big day out I always just took out with us the “aptamil on the go” bottles and an empty bottle. Flasks were just more weight in the bag and used to annoy me.

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Breastfeeding

Does it ever feel better? The actual feeding part of it is going really well and baby boy is growing so well. I’m struggling with how my boobs feel day to day - it’s really getting me down most days. The let downs make me feel awful and sounds silly but, I am also really missing not wearing a bra! 9 weeks postpartum and still getting fairly engorged, even with comfort pumping.

Any advice or just shared stories would help. I’m so torn between carrying on because I enjoy the feeding side of it or switching to formula.

Bath Time

Help! My baby is 3 and a half weeks old. Every bath she goes in quite happy but will only stay like this for a very few mins, if I try to clean her or move her we have tears and after a few mins the same. It's like she is scared. Our current baby bath is quite big should I try a different one? Looking for any suggestions as want her to enjoy bath time not be upset and I'm scared I'm going to make her hate it😢💗

Big nursing bras!

I’m looking for recommendations for good nursing bras for bigger breasted ladies!

I’m currently in a 38H which seems to be the biggest size done at M&S (UK based mama here) and it’s snug and not as supportive as I’d like. When I look online, they mainly seem to be sized S, M, L, XL etc rather than bra sizes.

Any recommendations please?

Strange question

Hello. I would identify myself as asexual but yes i am married and i have a child. But now that ive had my baby. I think its solidified that im done having sex. I feel bad as my partner keeps asking me but i just dont want to. Any advice on what i can do? Any other asexual moms out there? I guess this could be confusing but im not huge on being bound by a label. I have just always felt it represented me best since highschool.
