Courthouse wedding ??

Have any of you gotten married at the courthouse ? If so, what was your experience like ? Were you allowed bridesmaids/groomsmen??🤔

I just got married at City Hall on December 29th and although we just had my 10 week old daughter the sign said if you had guests they had to wait in the lobby due to space, it wasn't my ideal wedding but the experience was okay!

congrats !! 👏🏾

Yeah I think my issue would be my close fam members (mom, sis best friend) not being able to witness it. But then again idk. Because lately I've been telling myself that I don't need a big expensive wedding bc it only lasts a few minutes away. HOWEVER I'd love a nice reception with good food and music

We did something similar, we hired a wedding officiant to come to our house to marry us. It’s the same idea only they come to you. You would control the setting a bit more.
I have been to two city hall weddings though as a guest.

@Allie

As a guest, what all did you get to be a part of ? You wasn't able to witness the exchange of vows right ? You had to wait in the lobby as well ?

Avatar

No, both times they had about 10-20 chairs set up in a separate room where they did the ceremony. I’ll see if I can find and attach a photo for you of at least one of the weddings. These were both prior to COVID so I’m unsure if they have changed since.

Okay thanks, a pic would be great !

I did get legally married there first and had my wedding 4 months later. We were to have witnesses which could be your bridal party. Idk the limits but we had two people with us.

There were other appointments the same day so we waited in line with others wearing white dresses and suite with a friend or two in attendance. We just wore regular clothes as we were saving the other stuff for the ceremony with family and friends. Good luck 🍀

We went to the courthouse and just signed the documents like it was any other day. When we got home, we exchanged vows in privacy. I had special tee shirts made up that said "Mrs" and the marriage date and his said "Mr" and the date.

Awww I love it !! Whether it's a big or small wedding, it's still as meaningful. Yea the big weddings are beautiful but, no need for the show. I'm all for smaller intimate ceremonies and then a nice reception

I got married at a courthouse in a small town in Indiana. I had family with me, they were allowed to take pictures with us inside and witness the whole ceremony. I don’t regret it at all! The courthouse itself is beautiful and the photographer we had took AMAZING pictures. We didn’t have bridesmaids or groomsmen, but I’m sure they would’ve been allowed as well.

I got married at city hall. Didn’t have anyone else there but my husband and I but that was what we wanted.

Seems like yall have had good experiences with this. It's something worth looking into

My husband and I got married at City Hall in July 2020. We booked an appointment and had our matron of honor and best man, our 3 kids, and a photographer.

They double booked our room however and moved our wedding outside on the veranda of city hall so we were able to add a couple more guests.

If you call the courthouse, they will advise you of their space and protocols

that's awesome. And just the right amount of people there 😊

Pregnant with baby 2

Hi everyone! I gave birth via emergency c section 9 months ago as my baby boy was measuring big, he pooped inside so there was risk of him inhaling it and I wasn’t progressing past 3cm to have a natural birth and now I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. I’m having a consultation on Tuesday to talk about birth options and to have any questions answered but I don’t know what to ask. I feel like it would be safer having a c section again but at the same time I don’t want a c section. Does anyone have any question ideas I could ask or any advice/stories of similar situations. Tia

Anyone else felt like this?

Hi, I’m 4 months postpartum, little one sleeps through the night and is formula fed, the last week I’ve felt extremely tired and very hungry! Just wondered if anyone else has felt this way/experienced this?

Hey what are your current symptoms?

I’m 37+5

I’m pretty mobile still but anything over a hour or 2 and I’m in discomfort

Getting up from a sitting position is hard

Some of baby’s movements now are bordering on painful especially around my crotch/pelvis

I’m exhausted very easily and nap every single day

Can basically only breathe out my mouth now and I’m snoring and dribbling 😂

Standing in one leg is very painful 😂

Some waves of pain/ tightening but I regular and mild

Low period type aches

And I feel like a fire breathing dragon with this acid reflux

My nose is growing 😂

My fingers swell slightly and go numbs in my sleep so that and constant toilet breaks keep me up ( checked swelling with MW and consultant and all normal, not a worry)

I also do not want to be social in person like I’d rather everyone just be my penpal atm lol

What are your symptoms?
