Napping and bed time

I have an almost 2 year old and napping time and bed time it’s becoming the most stressful experience it used to be a pleasure. My little boy has developed his horrendous scream and won’t go down until I sit with him or comfort him any advice would be most appreciated I’m exhausted and feel like something needs to be done

It’s most likely 2y regression/ separation anxiety 😥 not really an advise but have to stick to your routine and just let it pass by. We have the same but as well our 22m is on his way to dropping his nap completely so it’s a nightmare,
We found that days that he doesn’t nap at all the bedtime is a breeze

I did wonder if this was the case thank you so much for responding I have also found this when he doesn’t nap in the day he goes down so much easier I think I just have to ride it out and if he doesn’t want to nap then just go with it :)

That’s what we currently are doing, we are offering a nap if he takes it we go with it (just not letting him sleep for too long) if he fights it we just letting go and scheduling a bit more chilled afternoon

Ahhhh we’ve recently been through this too and I think it must be a 2 year old regression/separation anxiety. It was really tough but it did come to an end and now we are back to normal 🙏🏼xx

did you end up dropping nap ?

Avatar

We’ve been having this for a few weeks, and also noticed his second molars coming through. Could she be teething? It was slightly better tonight, so hoping it’s coming to an end

Avatar

He’s got all of his teeth he got them very early I left the landing light on tonight and bed time was a breeze he tried briefly I hope it coming to an end 🙃

I can’t wait to for things to go back to normal he might be dropping his day nap possibly as I know a possibility at his age it’s just so exhausting 🤦‍♀️

In the same position!! I used to be able to leave the room and he’ll sleep on his own or go in and out the room no issue now I have to sit with him till he’s asleep he don’t let me leave without crying or getting out of bed

Ugh same here. My 22 month old is starting to skip his naps. It’s the worst. I just try to shut off any tv or distractions or toys and basically bore him to sleep 😴

This has been happening to us too

She usually has a nap around 12 for a couple of hours but over Christmas she had 1 nap and that was it!!

Yesterday she woke up at 6am and then didn’t sleep until 7:30pm!! 😣

I have a feeling her second molars are coming though although she won’t let me look!! But I have found some times leaving her bedroom light on helps her fall asleep, but not always

If she doesn’t have a nap usually she will be asleep by 6:30pm, but if she has a nap it’s usually 8pm

My lb woke up at 2am this morning and didn’t settle again until 5am 🫣 he did manage to have a nap today and has been a lot better I am praying for a full nights sleep feels like I have a new born again 🤦‍♀️

Avatar

omg!!! My little one was up at 1:30am and was awake hours! But surprisingly she was so happy and laughing away, so strange that you said similar too … she also didn’t nap today either! Not yet asleep….. hopefully will be soon 😂

Avatar

no she didn’t actually drop the nap and is back to having a lunchtime nap.

Hope you get a better sleep tonight Charlotte, it is so tiring isn’t it!

Avatar

Anyone managed to get out of this regression ? 😩

Avatar

for now yes my little boy did wake up the other night at 2 but only briefly he still struggles with day napping sometimes he does have one sometimes he doesn’t I hope it gets better for you 🥹 the one thing I have changed is one upped his food intake to one extra bottle of milk and snacks might be coincidence but I think it’s helped

Avatar

Ah we are opposite our naps/bedtime went back to almost normal but still wakes up on the night and comes to our bed 😬😬😬

Avatar

oh gosh bless you maybe try a bottle in the night to settle maybe we did this a couple of times and it helped it’s so tiring I hope your little one starts going through the night again soon

Avatar

We are done! (Jinxed it now though…) we did two nights of Ferber sleep training to get him back on track. He’s still having around 75-90 mins nap in the day but he just seems so much more tired in the evenings now so bedtime is 7ish and he’s up at 6.30am ish.
He does sometimes wake in the night if his nappy is really full but he settles back down super quick again. I don’t know how we all coped in the newborn phase!!

Wdy think of this for a toddler to learn word construction?

I'm open to anything else to start teaching him to read and write. He's 3!

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Pumping advise

FTM to a 2 week old! I’m breastfeeding and then giving one formula bottle last in the evening before bed. I want to start expressing milk to give me some breathing room and also allow my partner to be more involved in feeding. I’m finding the idea of introducing pumping into my day quite overwhelming though. I don’t want to take milk away from my baby by pumping if he needs it during the day when being breastfeed.

Can anyone advise how I start pumping and when to do it? Thank you!

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
