Leaving baby for an evening?

My baby is currently 14 weeks and will be 18 weeks when I’m debating leaving him for an evening for a party. I’m worried that either my mum / mother in law won’t be able to settle him and get him to sleep - am I being paranoid? Has anyone else left their baby for an evening yet?

I never thought I’d be so worried but the idea of him crying and them not being able to settle him really stresses me!

We left our LG at 4 weeks with my Mum as we had tickets to a concert we'd booked before we got pregnant 🤦🏼‍♀️ I was super anxious about leaving her but my Mum sent us regular updates and our LG was absolutely fine.
I'm glad I did it early on as I think I'd have been way worse otherwise.
If you're not ready, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that and don't force yourself. But baby will honestly be ok, you deserve some you time too. Xx

We have, we left our LO and my toddler just before Christmas to go out, my mum came over to look after them :P I was more worried about my toddler than the baby 😂 best time to leave them are when they're small! Older ones have set things and certain quirks that people's can't guess 😂

I have left my daughter a couple of times with my parents and she was fine. It is natural to worry but you also have to have a life

I haven't left baby overnight yet (because I'm an introvert and love having an excuse 😂) but I do think it's easier at this age than older. The worst that will happen is they can't settle baby and will contact you to come back. Having a backup plan will hopefully help ease your nerves x

I left my little boy with my mum overnight. I sobbed when I left him but she sent regular updates and pictures. I felt awful leaving him but it felt so good to go out me and his dad and do something for us he was absolutely fine and I woke up refreshed 😂
I saw a post that said about how much children love making memories with their grandparents and I remember staying at mine when I was younger and I loved it, obviously was a lot older but it made me feel happy when I thought about the memories he would be making that they would remember xx

I've had my baby looked after a couple of times when i went out, but both times baby was where i was coming home to. One time mum came to my house and other time baby stayed at MIL and so did I after the party.

They managed to settle him ans that but they didnt do as good of a job as i would have done, they didnt feed him enough (he has his quirks sometimes theres a knack to it but they didnt understand how) and also baby didnt get proper nights sleep as they didnt have the lights dimmed and didnt use the sound machine or swaddle baby. So the next morning baby was screaming big time out of lack of sleep and lack of food. I struggled to get him to eat at that point cos he was so upset but managed to give him a big portion in the end and he had like a 3hr sleep from 10am-1pm which is not something he would be doing during the day. So basically had to do a factory reset on him and get him back into our grove of things which sucked. Buuut i got a night out and free babysitting so i guess it was worth it 😄

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

Homebirth?

I am thinking I want a homebirth (second baby) for a few different reasons but my husband is very against it, he is worried about things going wrong and we are a 30 minute drive from the hospital. Has anyone been in a similar position and what did you end up doing? Any advice? 🙏
