Question - I am scheduled for a C-section in 10 days, and I am planning to breastfeed. I’m starting to feel concerned about my breasts - I don’t see any signs of colostrum, and my breasts feel very “normal”, for lack of a better way to describe it. They were feeling super tender and sore my first trimester, and I think it subsided a bit my second trimester. Did anyone else experience this before giving birth??? Did you have issues BFing?

This is how I was with my first born and I didn’t leak or anything like that and I had a c section with her and she latched on no problems afterwards.

They often won’t feel or look any different. Sometimes your areola will get darker or you might get more noticeable veins but that’s about it. Typically it takes 3-5 days for milk to come in and colostrum will come in at birth often triggered by the baby suckling. I was induced but it took my milk 5 days to come in. Just feed for as long and as frequent as the baby wants :)

Totally normal with my first that’s how it was. Normal no leaking and I breast fed just fine. That was 6 years ago ago. This pregnancy was totally different
