Idk my appointment yesterday she said that there going to do the membrane sweep and I’m thinking it’s because I’m having contractions and I am dilated but not enough to be in labor she said the way it looks I could go into labor any day and if I’m still pregnant by my appointment that she will do the membrane sweep I’ve heard it’s going to really hurt

Honestly they said I’m in early labor and I’m kinda wanting this baby out already lol

I had one at 37 weeks 4 days. It was very uncomfortable, mostly a lot of pressure. My doctor coached me through it by recommending open mouth breathing to keep my body relaxed. I wouldn’t say painful though. Definitely not a sharp or stabby type pain. You can definitely decline, but I opted not to as I’m trying to avoid other chemical types of induction as I get closer to my due date (my dr doesn’t want me going past due to heart issues).

it didn’t put you in labor?

So far no, I got it done on Wednesday. I was only 1 cm dilated though and having some period cramps like feeling before they did it, but not anything that I could definitely call a contraction. Since then, it does feel like those + BH have picked up a bit.

im hoping it will put me into labor because I’m already 3cm and 60% phase

I’m 3 1/2 cm dilated and 50% effaced . Got a membrane sweep 11am Thursday and still no baby

With my first pregnancy I had a membrane sweep and went into labor about 48hrs later. It was very uncomfortable, but not painful as others have suggested. For me I think it did help induce labor… at the time I was 39+4
