I just set up a mini crib for my baby. How can I start teaching my baby to fall asleep on their own at night? Do I drop a their dream feed? How do I go about this?

I know every baby is different but when I first started putting him in his crib I would rock him all the way to sleep with the sound machine going and put him in the crib you know butt first. Lately it’s gotten to the point where when he gets tired I put him in the crib partially propped up on his boppy and give him a bottle and within 5 minutes he’s out. He also uses a weighted swaddle

I started by just laying my daughter in her crib and soothing her while she was in there (hand on chest, stroking face, patting belly, just talking to her and letting her know I was there), until she falls asleep, then I just started doing less and less of it and now she pretty much just self soothes to sleep!
It worked well because it didn’t get her used to any rocking or motion to fall asleep so she does good putting herself back to sleep if she wakes up too!
You don’t have to drop a dream feed if baby isn’t ready for that yet!
