My baby still hasn’t developed a pattern yet:(

Hey lovelies🤗.

I’m 26 weeks tomorrow so I’m 25+6 today I’m pregnant with a girl & she has not really developed a pattern yet she moves daily all the time but definitely not at the same times she just moves everyday but being at the stage I am surely she should have a pattern no? I’m a ftm so I’m anxious all of the time do I need to be checked if she hasn’t developed a pattern yet?
Any advice would be amazing

Im 26+4 and my baby hasnt really established a pattern yet either. They dont always develop a proper pattern until 32 weeks. Remember theres still quite a bit of room in there at the moment.

thank you so much x

thank you so much I was told from 26 weeks but I am reading if it’s your first time then it can take a little longer so hopefully that’s just the case xx

Im 27 weeks, and I went to Triage on Friday due to three days of no movement. Luckily, little man is happy and healthy 🥰 The consultant told me some babies don't have patterns and it's nothing to worry about. As long as you feel baby frequently, that should be enough reassurance.

First time mum here. Are they meant to have a pattern? My baby is always moving I though more movement the better ?

lots of movement is reassuring! I think the pattern is just useful for us mums to know if there’s been changes/less movement than usual, so we can get it checked out

there’s never been a day where I don’t feel movement I always feel some sort of movement daily! So I take that as reassurance! So glad your little man is healthy and happy! Thank you for your reply it means alot x

My first never had a pattern of movement, I'm 26 weeks with my 2nd and there's no pattern but tend to feel more movement in the evening & night

Second time pregnant, didn’t notice a pattern last time. Don’t notice one this time either 😳 if I haven’t felt him move for a couple hours I’ll just pay more attention and try and get him to move. That’s about it! ☺️
For me it takes the pressure off. I’d be more panicking if I was expecting something that didn’t come

I was getting a lot of movements on a nighttime and didn’t really feel him during the day and I was sure that was his pattern now he just seems to want to move all day and night

My midwife said baby won’t develop a proper pattern until 28 weeks x

I’m 27 weeks and still no pattern so I wouldn’t worry ☺️xx

Mine hasn’t either, she’s always active around 9pm but apart from that it’s random. In my first pregnancy I never had a pattern the whole way through! X

Avatar

The most of a ‘pattern’ mine has (28weeks) is that he’s more active in the evenings/night but no real time frames or patterns, just a little wiggle bum!

Avatar

yeah mine is active in the mornings then just random throughout the day makes me feel better that I’m not the only one without a pattern x

Avatar

makes me feel better that patterns are not always there she’s active in the mornings or when I lay down or sit down more but I can stop panicking now haha xx

Avatar

thank you means alot you took time out to reply to this you put an anxious pregnant persons mind at rest 😂😂xx

Avatar

same with me I feel my baby more in the mornings and she tends to settle down more at night xx

Avatar

yeah I’m just taking to the fact they move most of the day but it’s just at random times! Thank you for replying puts my mind at rest! Me thinking about patterns stresses me out haha if they move most of the day I’m taking that as they are well and wiggling around!😂xx

usually moving in the mornings can also be part of a pattern x

Is this normal??

I’m 29 weeks pregnant and having really aching legs and they’re all lumpy and swollen. Above the knee and behind the knee . Should I be worried ? My legs have never looked like this up until a few days ago. ??

Induction experience

I just wanted to share my experience with being induced as I wasn’t sure what to expect and thought it may help others.

I opted for the foley balloon which was inserted at 8am Saturday morning, I had to stay in hospital due to hypertension and protein urine however usually you can just go home once this has been done. The insertion of the balloon was not painful, was slightly uncomfortable as there was slight pressure. I actually found having the cervix checked prior to be worse (again not painful at this point just uncomfortable) The balloon had little effect and after having it removed I was still only 1cm. Removal also was pain free and hardly even noticeable.

I then had my first dose of the gel and definitely noticed a difference, I started experiencing period like cramps almost immediately however they were light and manageable. After 6 hours I had another cervix check and although my cervix was soft it was still only 1cm and was only open at the front. I had another dose of the gel and felt an increase in pressure and more intense cramping where I now required pain relief (codeine). After another 6 hours I had another cervix check and I had now dilated to 2-3cm however was still quite difficult to get all the way through so a third gel was recommended which I agreed to.

Almost immediately I noticed the difference and was in considerable pain, I had paracetamol and codeine however the contractions had now become intense and a lot closer together (around 3 minutes apart). After a couple of hours I had my last cervix check and was 4cm and taken down to the Labour ward to have my waters broken and an epidural.

I had been in my room for approx 20minutes when my waters broke by themselves and I was now 10cm and actively pushing…. There was no time for the epidural and my beautiful girl arrived into the world within 2 minutes of pushing.

All in all I would say the cramps/contractions were manageable up until the third gel where it became pretty unbearable however it was for a very short time a gas and air helped take the edge off. The worst part about any of it was actually the later cervix checks where after stimulating the cervix my contractions were at their most painful.

If I had to be induced again I would skip the balloon and opt for the gels immediately as thy had a quicker effect and I would have been out a lot sooner if I had done this to begin with.

One more thing, I’ve never believed when people say “you forget the pain once they’re here” but I can honestly say this is true. It’s been 4 days and I would do it all again in a heartbeat.

It’s my birthday tomorrow.

Ok so I am going to be 35 years young. I can’t believe how much this life has thrown at me but it’s okay I’m a survivor. I am truly blessed to be alive. 🥳🧁🎂 The only downside is I won’t be celebrating my birthday because my man can’t take me out. So many emotions right now.

Exercise 6 weeks after c section

What movement did people start to introduce? I won’t do anything too vigorous until I’ve seen the pelvic physio as I don’t want to compromise anything that may have been extremely weakened through pregnancy! But just wondering what types of classes/movement people started off with?
