My baby is 6 months old - suspected potential milk allergy - suffered silent reflux - for the last 5 weeks he has not taken his milk well at all, he will just about take if your stood up swaying and TV is on as a distraction - he gets about 4 mouthfuls in then seems to push in pain starts choking and gagging on it! He’s had all of about 3 ounces today and he was prior to this a great feeder - you can see in the video he’s hungry and wants it but something clearly bothers him - he will just scream and do this but try to go back for more - he never feeds enough in the day we’ve weaned from 4 months as per our paediatrician just so he gets something but I’m at such a lossssssw - I’ll upload another video

Have you tried a thickener? For the reflux it might help. Sorry no real advice x

yes tried that, no luck:(

How did gaviscon help? Did the GP prescribe you some? Xx

yes he had gaviscom never worked he’s now on omep😭

My boy is the exact same, I’ve found he hasn’t got any patience to drink it. What size teat are you using? We’ve gone up to a size 3 and he’s taking it much better as he doesn’t have to make any effort for it to come out! Also on cmpa milk.
Also, at one point I was dream feeding him during naps as I found he would eat plenty then!

Have they not tested for a milk allergy? How long has he had this issue? My little girl was given prescription milk after 2 appointments but im seeing so many mums that havent been given it

Been through the exact same feeding issue and we've changed from MAM to NUK bottles and it made such a big difference!
Also we've had cmpa formula prescribed but she wouldn't take it either. Only after changing bottle she started feeding better x

he is already on size 3 teat doesn’t seem to of helped:( he also point blank refused any CMPA milks we tried about 4 and he didn’t feed for days:( dream feeding does seem to work just gets him into a terrible habit, he also naps like 30 mins a time:(

no we’ve been told there’s no actual test and they don’t do tests for it?? In the UK anyways😭

what milk did you move her too the CMPA one? We’ve tried nutramigen, aptamil pepti 1 with no luck at all x

it’s so so hard! Is he in a leap at the moment? I do tend to find my son is worse during the fussy phase of a leap
Have you looked into bottle feed aversion? https://www.babycareadvice.com/blogs/bottle-feeding/feeding-aversion#:~:text=A%20feeding%20aversion%20refers%20to,feed%20or%20eats%20very%20little.
I did suspect we had this at one point but I think he just really hates milk.
How long have you been on omeprazole? If it’s a pain thing then he is likely not to eat properly until resolved!

They did a test on my little girl and im in the UK! Thats so bad x maybe private test?
Where are you based?

With my boy who was very similar try vanilla essence in it and u could use a thicken for the reflux that worked with my baby boy. But if he's on soilds he reflux should start calming but baby is different it did take use about 2 wks ro get my little boy in the milk which is cow milk free which it does smell and taste nasty.to start off u could try mixing his milk with an oz of his normal milk I was told. Or add the vanilla essence hope this helps x

My boys in alfomino milk one that works the best my neice ad this ad I've advice few ppl to ask for it with their babies. I as said vanilla essence helped. We use ti sit him up right too with a tiny recliner so similar to what ur doing in the video but lead against ur chest ams sit bk on sofa so ur supported and comfortable as u rock will help with his reflux hopefully no it did with my boy and then if he falls to sleep he not suffer to much with it either. Depending where u r I could give u a tin of his milk to try

My baby boy has similar symptoms this came after he had a milk intolerance from 1 month old and started growing out of it about 3 months old, but then had reflux symptom. we tried the Gaviscon, and it did nothing. we have since gone onto Omeprazole and it seems to be having a really positive effect on him. Maybe ask your DR if they can prescribe some as a trial, we did 3weeks to see if it worked and it did. Hope you get to the bottom of it babe. Xx

we got out lo tested. They did immediate and delayed for diary and all the other allergens too. We are based in London. We went through Bupa

could it be the bottles? Because watching your video my boy does the exact same thing on MAM bottles but is fine with the nanobe ones? I’m thinking of switching back to nanobe and dropping MAM

Try Althera lactose free / cows milk allergenic formula.
Sometimes they have to order it in at the pharmacy

Could he be teething? My little girl did this for a week or 2 just before her teeth cut through, wouldn’t finish her bottles and pushed them away - think either had lost her appetite or it was hurting her gums. Now they’ve cut through she’s back to normal.

Could be teething, could be that he doesn't like that bottle. My daughter was like that with MAM bottle, but took to Tommee Tippee without issues. Tommee Tippee have an X teat which goes based on babies suction, so maybe it will help him?

she's on SMA Althera and she's much better x

so sorry I'm replying so late. She's on SMA Althera and she's absolutely thriving on it x
