Hey 👋🏻 we have our babymoon booked for next month in Prague.
Has anyone been whilst pregnant and has some recommendations on things to do and/or avoid?
Thanks ☺️

Haven't been while pregnant but was there in February 2020. It was very cold and quite icy in parts, so just be careful when walking around

Thanks , I read that the streets are cobbled and we could potentially see snow so I’ve got spiked snow boots on my packing list

definitely a good idea. Don't want to risk a tumble..

Our capital is gorgeous. The snow and freeze should be gone by next month (-9 degrees today in czech). Prague has good museums, the walks around river are so pretty too (Kampa). Oh and cant forget the food (we are very proud of our cuisine) and beer (you may have to give that a miss).
Be careful with taxi drivers, they like to charge foreigners more (there is uber there tho).

thank you, that’s very helpful. We shall definitely check out the museums and are going to do a river cruise. We are planning to use Uber and/or the Metro whilst there.

Little guide through our cuisine.

thank you so much! The soup looks amazing, as does the Fried Cheese! Do you know if cheese is often pasteurised or unpasteurised over there?

its the same thing as in UK - all the hard cheese like cheddar, gouda or emmental are pasteurised - but I used to always ask just to be on the safe side.
Hermelin is also amazing but thats a brie so I avoided it in pregnancy(despite some sayingu can eat it if its cooked).

Make sure you’re aware of the menu before going to any restaurants, they’re very heavy on steak so make sure you ask for it well done, also get ready for the beer fomo pretty much everything is beer based and filled with hen/stag do 🤣 it is a lovely place though x

you’re right, those hen/stag dos 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ give the city bad vibes sometimes.
If you have a chance and want to go out of Prague, you can visit places like Cesky Krumlov - thats bit more of real romantic Czech Republic
