Gush of blood story | *GRAPHIC*

So I thought I’d post this in case there is anyone else who goes through the same thing or worries about this kind of thing, maybe it’ll give at least a little hope as I was totally mortified and panicking and grieving for 2 days over the loss of my twins when they were actually okay.

I had light bleeding for a couple of days, this was pink blood mostly only when I wiped, so I was brought in for a scan on Saturday. They told me I was pregnant with twins and both had a heart beat and I was sooo happy.
Last night only a day later I felt the need to go to the toilet, and as I sat down I literally had an entire gush of blood and clots come out of me, I instantly started crying and shaking thinking everything was gone and over. I called my partner and he saw how much there was and called 111. He was terrified too, but genuinely kept as hopeful as he could throughout the whole thing whilst I was sobbing that I’d lost them and ‘I knew I’d lose them.’
I went back to the toilet and I was bleeding more and then what honestly what felt like something just drop out of me.
I called my mum and she begged me to go to the hospital as I have twins then one night still be okay and I genuinely said to her ‘what’s the point, they’re gone’ because I was so upset.
My partner did convince me and we went to A&E, I was still bleeding but it had gone very light. I thought the reason I was only lightly bleeding was because I’d just had a complete miscarriage and it was over and there was nothing left. I thought that within 10 minutes I’d lost everything and that was it. The hospital referred me back to the early pregnancy unit again but I had to wait for them to call me the day after.
I spent all night crying; not sleeping and mourning the loss of these two babies I’d only just seen with heartbeats on a scan a day earlier.
I woke up in the morning and continued crying, I couldn’t cope, so admittedly with impatience I called the early pregnancy unit instead of waiting on a callback. They booked me into a doctors appointment for later in the day, I cried on the way there, cried there, and then the doctor called me in after waiting 2 hours.
She told me the fact that the bleeding has slowed down and not continued is actually a really good thing, and that they already know there were heartbeats makes the chances of having a miscarriage really low. She said it should be a 95% chance of success rate. I cried and said I’d be the 5%, my partner believed it would be okay and I just had no hope. I said ‘she didn’t see how much blood there was, she wasn’t there’. She told me she will refer me for a scan, so I waited another hour for a scan.. a scan I was sooo ready to be told they were gone.
To my absolute surprise, there were two heart beats, both of them are okay and have even grown in size. The bleeding was due to a Subchorionic Hematoma, the pooling of the blood.
I genuinely cried with happiness and was so surprised and my partner was super happy too, my mum also completely relieved.
I’m still so so so surprised that they are okay, that I could lose so much and keep them. I feel completely and utterly blessed, I really do. I know I could be very lucky, I’m not saying this will happen for everyone but just with the chance this might give someone a little hope if they’re in the same situation then here you go!
Even if it’s just a read for you or anything 🤍

This also happened to my best friend & she also thought she’d lost her little girl horrendous ordeal to go through but thankfully she also was okay and heartbeat found at her scan, so very relieved for you that your twins are okay x

Yes, SCHs are very common and almost always resolve themselves. However, in some cases they won’t and can lead to pre-term labor (my case). The best thing to do is maintain pelvic rest until you’re in the clear (in my opinion past the 20 week anatomy scan).

i’m going through this, i cramped all day today (bad cramping almost) and finally passed a huge blood clot. I passed about 3 or 4 now but i’m still bleeding pretty heavy.. how long did your bleeding lasts again? i’m so scared im going to lose my baby

heya lovely, mine was very fast. I sat down and sorry for TMI but it was a proper gush of blood that just came out all at once. Then for about 30 mins I bled a bit and then it basically stopped. Chorionic hematoma is the pooling of blood between the chorion, a membrane surrounding the embryo, and the uterine wall. So basically the blood built up and just all came out at the same time. The positive sign from the midwife is that the bleeding got much lighter and stopped. If you’re still bleeding and it’s heavy, I’d get it checked out for sure. Make sure you wear a pad and note how much you’re passing to tell the doctor, they will do a check for you. I really hope you’re okay x

Is this little red bit on my section scar normal? It’s not oozing anything, doesn’t hurt but it’s the only bit on my scar like it so just curious! (19 days PP)

Pregnant with baby 2

Hi everyone! I gave birth via emergency c section 9 months ago as my baby boy was measuring big, he pooped inside so there was risk of him inhaling it and I wasn’t progressing past 3cm to have a natural birth and now I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. I’m having a consultation on Tuesday to talk about birth options and to have any questions answered but I don’t know what to ask. I feel like it would be safer having a c section again but at the same time I don’t want a c section. Does anyone have any question ideas I could ask or any advice/stories of similar situations. Tia

Hey what are your current symptoms?

I’m 37+5

I’m pretty mobile still but anything over a hour or 2 and I’m in discomfort

Getting up from a sitting position is hard

Some of baby’s movements now are bordering on painful especially around my crotch/pelvis

I’m exhausted very easily and nap every single day

Can basically only breathe out my mouth now and I’m snoring and dribbling 😂

Standing in one leg is very painful 😂

Some waves of pain/ tightening but I regular and mild

Low period type aches

And I feel like a fire breathing dragon with this acid reflux

My nose is growing 😂

My fingers swell slightly and go numbs in my sleep so that and constant toilet breaks keep me up ( checked swelling with MW and consultant and all normal, not a worry)

I also do not want to be social in person like I’d rather everyone just be my penpal atm lol

What are your symptoms?
