My baby has just turned 5 months and I think we’ve hit the dreaded regression!! Crap sleep for nearly two weeks now… however she’s seriously cranked it up a notch this evening and has point blank refused to sleep in her crib. Bed time is usually 7pm… Two hours in and I’ve finally given in… she’s now on the bed next to me out like a light! 🫠 has anyone else’s baby suddenly refused to sleep in their crib? If you’re out the other side of the regression, are they back in there or still bed sharing? I really didn’t want to have to co-sleep but I am this exhausted now after having barely any sleep since Christmas, it’s the only way any of us actually get any sleep!

Experiencing the same

I resorted to co sleeping when my boy was refusing going into his next to me.
He’s now too big for his next to me and we haven’t sourced a mattress yet for his big cot, so he is co sleeping with me still. I actually now prefer it. I love being able to touch him in the night, wake up and see his smiling face. Not to mention we sleep much better. Only up twice compared to several times when he was in the next to me.
Not sure if you have co-slept before but I found happycosleeper on insta helpful in making me feel safe doing it :)

My little one suddenly started crying when he was transferred into the next to me. We’ve already swapped out if the bassinet on his pushchair and have a cosytoes thing on it, which is basically a big sleeping bag. He’s currently sleeping in the next to me in the cosytoes. He’s slept quite well the past couple of nights that way!

Omg yes
Currently on attempt 3 to put him in but screamed the house down. Settled with a feed finally. I don't think I'll even attempt it for the rest of the night. Same as last night he had to be held all night.
I honestly thought the last 7 weeks were bad, this has been taken up a level

I am going through the same thing but I am petrified to co-sleep because of all the things we are told, plus my parents tell me something bad will happen to him if I do and it’ll be my fault 😶. I am exhausted and he will only sleep on my chest until he is in REM sleep then when I put him in his cot he will be up within 2-3 hours again wanting contact. I never thought it would get to this point but I am lost and honestly considering it

Perfectly normal. 4 months + with second baby and we are at it. We use a next to me cot and between 3 - 5am Co-sleep till morning. Exhaustion is my middle name but I know from experience it doesn't last.. It's what she needs for now. I was raised with cosleepong as a norm too

we are exactly the same in next to me till 3-5 ish then co sleep till morning! I wonder why they can’t sleep there after 3?!
last night was the first full night that I co slept with her, no matter what I tried, she refused to sleep in her crib.
We have an owlet sleep sock that monitors her sleep, and she slept all night, with only one waking for a feed. Every night for the last two weeks prior to this, she’s been awake multiple times ALL night. So she clearly just needs comfort right now.
I think I found it easier to switch off too knowing she was comfortable and getting some much needed sleep!
My only worry is… how do you transition them back into crib/or cot when the time comes? 😬
I’ll check that out- thanks! :)
oh okay- that’s interesting! Some extra comfort and warmth may help then, thanks!
I’m literally at my wits end now with this “regression” 😅 we’ve now gone from not sleeping in the crib at night, to now having a full on screaming meltdown and reluctance to nap in her crib this morning. She’s been awake since 7 and I’ve only just managed to get her to sleep- on the bed! 😖 I am more than happy to go with this for as long as she needs, but how on earth do you break the cycle, do things just do back to “normal”?!
I’m only 2 weeks in… 🥴
I hope you managed to get some sleep in the end… 😬
I’ve never wanted to co sleep but I don’t see any way around this at the moment- unless I literally stay up all night trying everything I can to get her to sleep in the crib. 😖
Last night I co slept with her all night (my partner was on the camp bed- tbf I’m sick of his snoring anyway 😂) and she had the best sleep she’s had since this whole regression thing started! She only woke up once compared to waking every 10 mins in her crib!
I think co sleeping atm is going to save my sanity!!
I hope you manage to figure out a way to get some rest, it’s so bloody hard isn’t it 😖
thanks the for reassurance, when you’re in the thick of it, it feels like you’re the only one going through it! It’s just hit us like a tonne of bricks, and I literally don’t know how we’ve gone from having a baby who used to sleep really well in her crib, to now now wanting to be in there at all, not even for naps. 😖
Will co sleeping make the whole transition back into her crib/cot even more challenging when the time comes? 🤷🏻♀️ I guess no one knows, and I should really focus on the now. Like you said, it’s what she needs for now- and she definitely does- she slept all night on the bed with me!

I guess they wake fully around that time and are aware that they are in their cot 🙈🤣.
