Hi all,
My baby has been on a feeding plan, so I have been waking him up every 3 hours for a feed. However, now that he's reached his birth weight, do you I continue to wake him up for a feed, or should I just feed him when he wakes up?
It would be nice to get more than 2 hours to sleep before my alarm sets off. It'd get harder and harder to wake up when that alarm goes 😪.

I don’t wake for feeds, my baby is 2 months old and I stopped when she got back to her birth weight. she’ll wake up when she’s hungry. Unless it’s for a long period of time.

Don't wake baby, baby will tell you when there hungry

what do you class as a long period ?

We stopped waking the baby to feed after he reached his birth weight. Pediatrician told us to let the baby sleep thru the night if he doesn’t wake for a feed. As soon as we stopped waking him he slowly started sleeping more hours.

I stopped that first week because I was wasting breastmilk. I'd get up and warm a bottle up then wake her up and change her and then try to feed her but she would turn her head away and fall back asleep. She would get so mad if I had her try to eat it. I'd put it in her mouth and she wanted nothing to do with it

At this point you can let baby wake up when hungry to feed. Just know that means baby needs to feed more often during the day. Unless the doctor says otherwise.

I didn’t wake her for feeds after a couple of weeks. She woke herself when she was hungry

Once she was older (2/3 months) I started a dream feedback

*feed

My baby was born with a low birth weight but I was told to only wake her up if she goes over 4h. So nightly I would set my alarm for every 4 hours but she would always wake me up every 2-3 for milk anyway. She is now steadily growing in line with her growth chart for her birth weight. This gave me more sleep and lowered the chance of me having to wake her up when she was asleep
