Gallstones/gallbladder issues since having a baby

Has anyone else had this? I’m currently waiting to have my gallbladder removed and the waiting list seems to be a long one which is killing me with each flare up.
This only appeared after having my second baby and my doctor referred me straight away to be scanned and see the gastroenterologist, they’ve agreed for it to be removed as it’s likely it’ll get worse which it now seems to be.

Can I phone my doctors and push for them to get it done quicker? Or am I gonna have to wait it out on this long waiting list? 😫
Baby is 8 months old tomorrow and I’ve been waiting since October for the surgery.

Picture of my cheeky girls for attention 🥰

I had problems with my gallbladder after having my little boy which meant I needed to have it removed but I would suggest contacting your doctors again telling them that it only seems to be getting worse and hopefully that will help get things sorted sooner as it’s always worth a try!

I think I have this, I’m seeing my dr on the 18th, can I ask what the pain feels like for you ? Mine only happens every now and again mainly when I go to long between meals and eat certain foods , it’s definitely not hunger pain and I can feel it in my upper right rib x

How long did you wait to have it removed and what was recovery like?
I’ve booked an appointment with the doctor so hopefully they can help me at least with some sort of pain relief if they can’t speed up the op! Fingers crossed 🤞

It is on the right side at the lower part of my ribs, the pain I can’t even describe, it’s unbearable and I would rather give birth over and over again than have it. Apparently certain foods/drinks can trigger it but mine is completely random and flares up whenever it wants. Hopefully they get it sorted for you if it’s the same thing! 🤞

I only had to wait 3 days to have mine removed as I was put on the emergency list and the recovery wasn’t bad at all it wasn’t painful just felt tender around my bellybutton whenever I stood up or getting out of bed! Hopefully your doctors will help you as the pain really isn’t nice is it x

Oh brilliant! That sounds promising, I can’t wait to have mine out. How have you been since? The pain is awful 😫😫x

Yes, I had to have mine removed, worst pain ever! Was told the waiting list was 6-8 weeks, 4 months later I had surgery 😣 just keep pestering your doctor, I feel for you, it’s horrible x

oh my god you’re so lucky, although I’ve only been waiting nearly 3 months so I’ve still got time. But I just wish I had an appointment to have a countdown ready 😫x

Ask your doctor who your surgeon is, then call your hospital switch board and ask for the number of the surgeon’s secretary. They should be able to tell you your date. It helps to have a definite date to count down to! Xx

I’m still having a few problems but it’s a lot better since having it removed although I still have to be carful with what I eat x

Avatar

Oh no really? Mine isn’t triggered by what I eat, was yours? X

Avatar

yeah still getting the pains every now and then but they aren’t as bad as they was n yeah mine was triggered by what I ate and still is :( x

Avatar

Oh no, is there nothing else they can do for you regarding it? X

Avatar

I’ve been given tablets to see if that helps if not I’ve got to see a surgeon again x

Avatar

hopefully they help you! I can’t wait to have mine out but I do hope it works x

Avatar

thank you! Hopefully you’ll have yours removed soon and everything works out for you x

fingers crossed! I hope yours gets sorted out properly soon too! X

Scan needed at 33 weeks

Hi ladies! I just had a midwife appointment (I am 33+5)..the midwife was different to my usual midwife. She's requested I have a scan within 72 hours as she said baby is measuring a little small, however, she did say that it's likely nothing to worry about and it's probably just her measuring me a bit different to my usual midwife. Has anyone else had this? Am a bit worried although babys heartbeat and movements are completely fine.

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient 😂🥲

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?
