Last night was awful! I slept one hour woke up in a panic attack and haven’t slept since. I’m petrified of giving birth! Like absolutely bricking it! Anyone else been where I am? I need support and don’t know where to look x

Hi Nicole! I’m sorry this has happened. It’s completely normal to feel petrified. I used to have nightmares about it with my first. One thing that helped me, is watch other people’s labour experience on YouTube/ IG.
I took NCT classes to have a better understanding of what to expect and it helped a lot. I also spoke to other mums which also helped x

I definitely think getting a better understanding if what to expect in labour would help and also ringing your midwife to see if she can have a chat with you.

My midwife is a bit of a nuisance tbh she just refers me to the go everytime

You are not alone! This is my second pregnancy and I was scared the first time because I didn’t know what to expect, I’m scared this time because I do know what to expect 😂 such a shame that your midwife is unhelpful, can she refer you to a mental health midwife? I’ve been having support from one because of my anxiety and she is helping me make decisions about my birth plan.
My first birth didn’t turn out as I’d hoped, I won’t go into too much detail but I think it would’ve helped if I’d educated myself more on things like intervention so that I wasn’t as afraid. Definitely read up as much as you can on things that may happen during labour so you are more prepared for all scenarios.
Hypnobirthing techniques are helpful and can allow you to manage your anxiety. But it might help to read a variety of birth stories not just positive ones. I did a well known hypnobirthing course they preach that your body know what to do, but I felt like I failure because mine didn’t x
