Question mainly for the working moms, but if anyone at all has some advice, I’m open to it 😊
As we approach the 1 year mark/ begin transitioning to milk instead of formula, what does your morning routine look like?
I typically feed just a formula bottle in the morning at 7:30am, then take her to daycare around 8:00/8:30am depending on the day. I’m usually getting ready for my work day during the time that she’s eating her bottle. Since we’ll be transitioning soon to milk/solids for breakfast - How do you structure your mornings for actual breakfast feedings? How do you feed yourself at the same time? LO doesn’t get the concept of scooping food yet on her own, and I’m worried about how long it’ll take me to clean her up if she’s feeding herself in the morning (still a messy eater 😂). Hubby leaves before 7:00am for work, so I’m always solo in the morning.

Maybe not ideal, but get up 30mins earlier and eat with your little one? I'm usually solo in the morning before work too. I'll put my LO in her high chair (or hold her if she isn't feeling the chair) while I make us breakfast. Then eat together. Depending on the morning like if we overslept I'll try to make something that is less messy for cleanup like scrambled eggs and toast.

Thank you! I’ll try to start doing that. I’m just a crap sleeper, which is why I sleep so late 😅

My daycare provides breakfast, does yours? You could plan to just do regular whole milk in the morning and she have breakfast at daycare?

I hear that! It makes me cringe to even suggest getting up earlier... especially if your little one has been sleeping like crap like mine has been the past two weeks! 🙃 I just keep reminding myself this too shall pass!

she actually sleeps like a dream. I just wake for no reason multiple times per night 😅
She has been waking 15-20 minutes earlier this week though, so maybe it’ll be an easy transition for her.

I’ll have to check! I know they do lunch and snacks, they have a menu for breakfast too, but they haven’t asked me about feeding her those yet.

Food prep is the only way breakfast works over here! On Sunday mornings when I make breakfast, I prep a bunch for the week. Dice/steam apples, cut oranges, dice kiwis—whatever fruit I get I prep it all on Sunday and put it in containers in the fridge. Then whatever I cook for breakfast I just make a lot of it and store it in the fridge for the week—like a bunch of little pancakes, egg bites, carrot muffins, etc. then breakfast is literally just grabbing a couple things from the fridge.
