Fruit juice/water for constipation?

We used cool boiled water with brown sugar and it worked a treat!

how much did you give your LO?

Wont be recommended by doctor but does work - 30ml apple juice mixed with 60ml cool boiled water!
Or as Beth has mentioned above, a tiny amount of sugar either in cook boiled water or in a bottle of formula, works too x

sounds silly but what type of brown sugar and how much?

1/2 a teaspoon of sugar mixed with 1oz of cooled boiled water, I just found it online!

Few sips of cooled boiled water in between feeds or 5ml gripe water worked for my LO. Although my doctor prescribed her lactulose yesterday to help her go more regularly x

Personally, I would never give anything other than breast milk. It’s EBF for a reason. Have you tried Windi by Frida? Releases air and poop

I have heard about Windi but a bit nervous to try it as have heard mixed reviews. I know it can help with gas but does it also work for constipation?

it's not safe to stick anything in your babies bottom as you can perforate the walls/sphincter muscle.

Does baby seem upset/unsettled and straining to poop?

Just managed to see a different doctor who has prescribed lactulose - 1 X 2.5ml twice. Otherwise they said that as long as baby is passing wind and not throwing up it's just a waiting game 🤞

You don’t actually end up sticking it far! Literally a mm and gas and poo comes out. They’ve been used in Europe for decades. In fact, my parents used them with me - no issue.
