Kendamil Formula and Reflux

Wondering if any Kendamil mums can offer any advice.

My son is 12 weeks old and has been on Kendamil comfort milk (from Kendamil First milk from birth) since around 3 weeks old as he was struggling really bad with colic. He also struggles with reflux and has been on infant gaviscon since our 6 week check up at the doctors.

His reflux seems to have gotten worse this last week or two, possibly as he’s having larger feeds. He’s got MAM anti-colic bottles and we’ve tried some lansinoh teats to try and improve his latch but I’m wondering whether it’s just the Kendamil milk that isn’t suiting him. Has anyone experienced similar and can offer any advice? As much as we love the Kendamil brand (the factory is just down the road!) I’m contemplating trying a different milk to see whether it makes any difference but just no idea which or if that’s the best course of action. I’m hoping to not need to go down the omeprazole route if we can help it. Any help massively appreciated. Thank you 😊

I have recently switched my baby from Kendamil original to kendamil goats milk and I have seen a huge difference in only 4 days!! (We’re the same we love the kendamil brand) And I still haven’t finished weaning her onto it. She is 6 weeks old. She has struggled with reflux massively and she is only a small baby, she wasn’t settling at all she would sleep for 30 mins at a time, and be awake most of the day because she was so unsettled. She was bringing up alot of milk and acid, during and after every feed, screaming whenever I would feed her, and now she barely brings anything up!
Goats milk is easier for them to digest and we are absolutely loving having a happier more settled baby🤍 Reflux is so tough, you got this!🤍

My son used to scream every single night and I could hear the reflux. Switching to Kendamil goat and becoming extremely gentle when burping/rocking helped my son (screaming sessions less intense) but he outgrew it at 5 months. Most babies do before 9 months. It was so stressful I barely made I through but now we are golden! Hope this helps. This too shall pass.

aww that’s amazing to hear that you’ve got a happier more content LO as a result, thank you so much for taking the time to reply. You feel at such a loss knowing what to do for the best don’t you! I’ve been chatting with HV yesterday and waiting to hear from head of infant feeding today hopefully and will discuss goat milk xx

amazing to hear your LO has outgrown it and all is well now! 🥰 It seems like there isn’t a light at the end of the tunnel some days and hate to see him in so much discomfort wincing with the acid, just want to do whatever we can to try and make him more comfortable. He is by no means the worst baby for it as he doesn’t scream the place down during the day, mainly seems the most upset at nighttime but squirms and thrashes during and after feeds, gets a bit upset and you can hear the acid/milk coming back up and does spit up quite a bit too. Awful when they’re so little!!! Thanks for taking the time to share your story, going to chat about switching milk with the HV when I hear back from her

can I ask how you’ve transitioned onto the goat milk? Is it 1 bottle day 1, 2 bottles day 2 etc? My husband is off to pick up a tin now x

I gave her 1 bottle of goat on day 1, 2 on day 2, 3 bottles on day 3, and so on from there. By day 4 I could see a significant difference when I gave her the cow milk compared to goat! Xx

Hope it goes well and you see a difference with your baby 🤍🤍

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

New born

Finally had my baby girl via C-section on the 18th, everything has been so far. But I’ve noticed she’s very fussy and cries a lot. I’ve been trying to exclusively breastfeed. The lactation consultant at the hospital said I did look like I’m making enough milk for her. She was latching on good at the hospital and now here at home, she doesn’t seem to want to latch at all. She’s been crying a lot and very fussy. I’m just wondering is she’s colic or like maybe she just doesn’t want the breast anymore?

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
