Needing some insight, how do you practice Natural Family Planning with irregular/unpredictable periods?

I’m currently 8 weeks pregnant with an oopsie 10 month PP from an ECS so I’m jumping the gun here a bit but I want to make sure I make a well informed decision for myself when the time comes and give myself plenty of time to obtain that well informed decision.

I do not really want to be on a birth control medications, as I’ve only ever had adverse reactions to them, mainly gaining weight on them, if there’s a chance of weight gain, no matter how slight, I WILL gain weight and a lot of it 🥲 I’ve only ever taken hormonal but with weight gain being a potential side effect for a lot of the non-hormonals I’ve looked at too it terrifies the crap out of me 😔 we tried the natural family planning way or whatever you call it when you track ovulation but my periods are not always on time, they can sometimes be super late or they can be super early annnnnnnd…that’s how we’ve ended up with baby #2 before the 18 month wait😅

Any pointers? Tips? Tricks? Maybe I just need to go see a seer every month to prophesize my periods. It would probably be more accurate than any of my period tracking apps 😂🔮✨

Ovulation strips! Check out Premom brand on Amazon and download the app. You'll learn exactly when you ovulate each month and can avoid sex during that time frame.

Copper IUD?

He just never cums inside me. EVER. Unless I’m TTC which those days are way over for me. You can try ovulation strips and testing your temp every day and have like a lil journal but what we’re doing has worked for us and he’s gotten used to it. I’ve never been on hormonal BC

I’ve read that copper IUDs don’t cause weight gain but then I’ve seen some other women give testimony’s saying that it caused something to happen for them to gain weight despite no other lifestyle changes 😔

I think I’ll probably go with the ovulation strips. I’ll definitely try out journaling my temps but my ability to keep a journal for ANYTHING is weak at best 😩

thanks yall for your suggestions ❤️

It would definitely be something like ovulation strips daily and just not have sex those days. Also make sure he is pulling out every time. Not 100% effective obviously, but certainly a good extra layer of protection to the ovulation strips. Also you could use condoms or one of those like non hormonal birth control lubes or whatever. Idk what they are called but I saw one advertised a lot. Are you wanting to have more children after this one? If not, you could just have hubby get a vasectomy. That's what mine is doing after this one lol

Look info FAM (Fertility Awareness Method) I really recommend the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility"

I used this method successfully before having my daughter (she was planned don't worry 😂)
This method can absolutely work with irregular cycles, however it involves taking your temperature every morning so it won't be ideal with a newborn so you might be best to use a barrier method whilst baby is still waking in the night.

Please don't just rely on ovulation strips unless you're okay with another oops baby 😂
They work by detecting LH levels, they don't confirm ovulation. And it's very possible for your body to make multiple attempts at ovulation before it actually drops the egg! The only thing that can confirm ovulation (other than a well timed ultrasound) is a rise in basal body temperature!

Hope this helps!

Just want to add that pulling out is also a dangerous game. You can 100% get pregnant from pre-cum!

I have the Mira ovulation tracker device. It tracks 3 different hormones and keeps data and analytics in an app on your phone. It’s on the pricey side, but it’s been really helpful for irregular periods and irregular ovulation.

Is this normal?

Is this little red bit on my section scar normal? It’s not oozing anything, doesn’t hurt but it’s the only bit on my scar like it so just curious! (19 days PP)
Thank you in advance! 🥰

Anyone else felt like this?

Hi, I’m 4 months postpartum, little one sleeps through the night and is formula fed, the last week I’ve felt extremely tired and very hungry! Just wondered if anyone else has felt this way/experienced this?

Pregnant with baby 2

Hi everyone! I gave birth via emergency c section 9 months ago as my baby boy was measuring big, he pooped inside so there was risk of him inhaling it and I wasn’t progressing past 3cm to have a natural birth and now I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. I’m having a consultation on Tuesday to talk about birth options and to have any questions answered but I don’t know what to ask. I feel like it would be safer having a c section again but at the same time I don’t want a c section. Does anyone have any question ideas I could ask or any advice/stories of similar situations. Tia

Hey what are your current symptoms?

I’m 37+5

I’m pretty mobile still but anything over a hour or 2 and I’m in discomfort

Getting up from a sitting position is hard

Some of baby’s movements now are bordering on painful especially around my crotch/pelvis

I’m exhausted very easily and nap every single day

Can basically only breathe out my mouth now and I’m snoring and dribbling 😂

Standing in one leg is very painful 😂

Some waves of pain/ tightening but I regular and mild

Low period type aches

And I feel like a fire breathing dragon with this acid reflux

My nose is growing 😂

My fingers swell slightly and go numbs in my sleep so that and constant toilet breaks keep me up ( checked swelling with MW and consultant and all normal, not a worry)

I also do not want to be social in person like I’d rather everyone just be my penpal atm lol
