Mayo ?

When you first find out your pregnant and you go to the midwife’s and they say no to having mayo is that right cuz I had a sandwich yesterday with mayo in it , it weren’t a great lot , but now I’m 35+4 now . Would baby still be okay ? Or is it wrong that ate a sandwich with mayo in it ?

I’ve never heard this! Been eating mayo throughout my pregnancy & have tuna mayo pasta at least once a week 🥴 baby all good at 36 weeks! X

I've been eating mayonnaise the entire time since the first trimester out of bottles etc. The concern is with fresh mayonnaise with eggs that aren't lion certified. Luckily, we don't really get that in the UK. I'm 37+3 now with a healthy baby growing

it’s so weird that different midwife’s say one thing and others seem to say no it’s fine ahaha 🤣. But yeah when I first find out I was pregnant she was like don’t have mayo , don’t eat chorizo or things like that 🤣x

Yeah I think it depends on their age etc to be honest & when they were trained, I’d just stick to nhs guidelines really x

Normal mayo like Hellman’s is absolutely fine. 😄 The only reason it’s sometimes a bit of a question is if you were to go to a farm cafe or somewhere that they make their own homemade mayo AND they have used unpasteurised milk or non-lions-stamp eggs to make it (this can carry bacteria which can make you ill). Basically there is no effect to the baby unless you become ill (same with any illness from food (salami, cheeses etc) x

You can have mayo, 99% of mayo from supermarkets is made with pasteurised eggs which is safe. They recommend not eating homemade mayo because it hasn’t been pasteurised

okay thank you ☺️ x

Your be fine it’s just if it’s homemade with egg in case of salmonella ect xxx

I’ve never ever heard this! I’ve had garlic Mayo alllll the way through I’m 36+1 and my baby is fine up to now

Avatar

well least I know but I also guess when it’s your first which this is I had no idea what to believe and what not too

I’ve been eating it the entire time and am 37+5 now…. I think they only say that for homemade mayo as the egg is raw xx

there’s a guide on the nhs website I used it when I first found out and didn’t see it in there so I think you’ll be fine x

Diamonds

So I saw a post on another platform where someone was wondering why anyone would buy natural diamonds anymore since they have lab dimonds now and I commented

"I told my husband I want dinosaur poop diamonds not dog poop dimonds. lab dimonds could be made from anything natural dimonds are made from life on our planet billions of years ago and that to me makes them beautiful.
but there are businesses where you can send ashes of your loved ones and they will make you dimonds out of there ashes so I will be doing that with my 1st dog when he passes. my husband and I have also already decided that when we die he is going to be turned into dimonds and made into bracelets and im going to be turned into necklaces for our children. so they can always hold us close to them rather than just sitting in a jar or in the ground. might as well speed up the process. 😋
In my opinion the dimonds that you are able to choose what they are made out of are more special and valuable rather than dimonds that are most likely made of trash or rotting food."

Quick question to corporate “working from office” moms?

Since when is it okay to request work from home at workplace? I’m currently entering 20 weeks and planning on requesting work from home. I know people usually start work from home from the 7th month but I’m planning on requesting since 5th month. Is that okay and acceptable in the corporate world?

Vitamin D

Are you all giving vitamin D for EBF babies? My little boy is 2 months old and only now I started giving it to him but I feel guilty as I was told to start at 1 month

A gift for my son 4 years in the making, 14 years to go

I started this avocado tree from a seed the week my oldest was due with the idea of gifting it to him as a birthday gift for his 18th birthday. So when he’s old enough to move out he has a mature tree that hopefully can fruit.

I’ve had it in a bottle with water and fish tank water as fertilizer from the beginning and it’s still growing new length, branches, and leaves every year.

I cannot wait to give it to him when he’s older but I’m so attached to it I’ll be sad to see it go 😂

Friendships after having a baby…

I only have a few friends who have known me a few years before i became a mum and i feel like they will never understand me until they become mums. They have their own lives where they have fun, spend time with friends, go dinners, museums etc and i’m never considering or included in any of these. They will come visit us and they’ll barely make conversations with me anymore. I feel like im completely invisible as a person and im now only seen as my baby’s mum. Which of course i am and i love it that im her mum but theres also a person behind that title that is being forgotten and i dont know how to feel about it.

My closest friend has been ignoring me, replying late to my messages and its just bringing up so much resentment. She is a busy person but im also a person who has feelings and again i feel like im not being thought of.

Can anyone offer any advice or tell me about your similar experiences and what happened to your friendships in the end? I really dont want to lose my friends as i always hold them dear and near to my heart but it’s upsetting me more and more over time…
