Hi, has anyone got any stories about their placenta and the amount of calcification it had at around 40weeks?
Drs are suggesting to get induction.. but I wanted a very natural birth.

No 42w with my son placenta was fine.

Not got experience with this but you could ask for increased monitoring of placental blood flow x

This is a very informative post about calcification. Might help.

Is there actually evidence of calcifications on your placenta or are they trying to tell you that you will have calcifications if you do past 40 weeks based on vibes? My boy came super healthy at 41+4 (C-section due to surprise breech) and they said that he was doing so great that he probably could have gone to 43 weeks no problem otherwise. There’s no evidence the placentas automatically fail past 40 weeks. If you do go past due it is recommended to get a biophysical ultrasound to make sure baby is still doing well though. Any issues seen on that scan can indicate an issue with the placenta but it’s absolutely not an given that there will be issues if you wait. Check out evidence based births info on induction for due dates and know that you can always decline an induction.
Hi all, thanks for your comments so far
I had a scan which showed calcification throughout. 😔
