Our little one is 13 weeks old and we have been using the self sterilising MAM bottles in the microwave since day 1. Tonight they have melted in the microwave 😩 Has this happened to anyone else?
So lucky I didn’t throw his tiny baby bottles away or we wouldn’t have been able to feed him till the shops opened tomorrow!

Yess almost all of my mam bottles have done this, it’s a nightmare but they can still be used x
I wonder why 😩 it’s awful isn’t it

This happened to one or two of ours in the early days and we found out it can be a few things. For example; it can be because there was something done in the microwave prior to us doing the sterilising and it was just the case that the microwave hadn’t cool down enough before doing the bottles (which I do believe was the reason for ours melting) or another reason apparently can be that the microwave isn’t COMPLETELY clean, so if there is a bit of food residue, fat or an oil splash - that can interact with the plastic bit x

One bottle did this and its fine to use. Partner decided to put them on a plastic plate which melted just one base. X

I’ve found this can happen if you forget to add a bit of water in the bottom of them before putting them in the microwave
