This is more of a vent.
My MIL likes to tell her grand kids how to play and I’m just over it.
My MIL is staying at my house for the weekend and my BIL needed me to watch his kids while he moved some stuff for a project. (My husband is helping him and BILs wife decided to hangout here)
Right now the kids (4 & 9) are playing with my toddlers crawling tower and her foam climbing steps. I’m sitting on the couch minding my own business and honestly watching them play bc the 4 yo is super cute.
My MIL is trying to control how they are playing. First she was upset bc the 9 yo was pulling her sister down the foam ramp (hella slowly) and they where pretending to be sledding. Then she forced them to open it and crawl through to play properly. Now she’s yelling at the oldest bc she just wants to see if she’s fit. She would, I even told her to see if she could but MIL is not having it.
They aren’t my kids but I couldn’t care less how they are playing with these toys. I told them have fun just don’t break it. I’m just glad they aren’t up my butt like they normally are (I’ve become the favorite aunt on accident 🤪).
I’m just annoyed with how controlling she is over how the kids play. There’s really nothing I can do because they aren’t my kids and their mom isn’t saying anything or giving her looks. She’s like this with my toddler too and I can’t stand it. I typically say something when it comes to my toddler.

"MIL, they look like they're having a great time. They're not doing anything dangerous or anything that I object to being done in my house. Let them play however they want."
girl I think she’s deaf because she’s never listened to a word I’ve said in defense of my own kid. 🤦🏻♀️ I love this response though. Thank you ♥️

if their mother doesn’t care why would you
because it’s happening in my home with my toddlers toys that I already gave them permission to play with. I shouldn’t have to listen to unnecessary nagging in my living room.
